Well like someone said yesterday when people were ripping Ray not being in on every single deal it's not like GM's post on a message board and let all thirty teams know someone's available and for what price. i don't get why theres all this talk about zacha for hanifin. do the canes need someone like zacha?

Yes. They only have one F in their top-6 who plays with any physicality whatsoever, and that is Jordan Staal. Opposing defenses play an entire game vs. Carolina and barely have to worry about taking a hit. Zacha could immediately slot into their top 6 and give them another dimension.

Meanwhile, the Canes have assembled quite a stash of young talent at D. On the right side they have a star in Faulk, plus two more good young D in Pesce and Van Riemsdyk. On the right side they have Slavin with top-end young talent coming through the pipeline in former first-rounders Bean and Fleury.

A trade of, say, Zacha & Moore for Hanifin & Mckeown would make tons of sense for both sides. Not saying this based on knowledge of any sort, it's just a hypothetical. I love Zacha and would hate to lose him, but the Devils are loaded with LW/C and really thin at D on both sides and RW.

Still, I would say the most likely scenario is something less drastic, like Henrique for Demers or Henrique for Muzzin.

I never would have though it was done this way. It makes sense to announce that saison player is out there. How hard is it to send out 30 emails to the gms? If gms aren't doing this then they should be fired.

Zacha does not fit into their top 6. Skinner, Staal, Rask, Lindholm, Aho, TT, Stempniak and Ryan are all better. He's a 3rd liner for them
