Owen Power and Brandt Clarke are not and should not be above Luke Hughes by any sort of margin that can be considered a 'gap'

Owen Power is hyped more because he has size; Brandt Clarke is hyped just about the same

If you told the fans and Jack you took one of those two over Luke 'yet we had them similarly ranked', everyone should be pissed.

youre talking about setting up the dynamic of the Hughes brothers on your team for a decade or more, something that can draw in thousands of fans and become its own brand. And youre going to pass all of that up for... a few points difference in some deep analytics report? One being 1A and another being 1B?

and we both know for a fact Luke Hughes will be highly ranked because hes everything Fitzgerald has ever commented on in a player; incredible skater, smart, good size, hard worker, etc.. he plays for the USNDTP and is the best skater in the draft

If we are any pick of 1-4 and Luke is available and we pass on him; you better f***ing hope that kid turns into an absolute monster or stand the chance if having to goodbye to Jack the first chance he gets at UFA

The team might not have them similarly ranked tho. All these guys in the top aren’t going to turn into stars, so if the devils think someone else is more likely to become a star or they aren’t as confident in Like Hughes becoming a star they should take someone else. If they think he’s the guys than I’ll be happy and support that. Just don’t want him being picked simply because he’s Jack’s brother.

I’ve never seen anyone say he’s a better skater than Quinn and I don’t think he is, not that he isn’t a great skater. Also not everyone has had ranked in the top 5. Some people aren’t as high on him. There’s a chance the devils aren’t either.

i wouldn't mind taking hughes at all, but if clarke is available i'd rather have him. from what i've seen, there are less question marks with his game and he fills a positional need. either way i'd be happy, but the hughes brother connection should be removed from the equation. shouldn't be a factor whatsoever.

and by the way if hughes wants to leave, he will be traded for something of value from vancouver or wherever. lou's gone, we don't let our best UFA players walk when the season is over.

You need to look around a bit more he’s been ranked outside of the top-5 by many people before. Most have had him in the top-5 lately.

I’m done arguing with you because your just saying stuff that’s not even true at this point. Rossi is not Swiss. Who the hell said we drafted Bastian for McLeod. They got drafted the same year and it wasn’t like McLeod was considered the saviour of our organization. Nico may have been a factor of that trade but Fitz has said he wasn’t and it’s very possible he wasn’t. Moynihan was ranked higher than he went so it wasn’t a reach and even if they draft him because Jack liked him there’s a huge difference between a 6th round pick and a top 5 pick.

Best skater in an entire draft says to me that he could at least be on par with Jack. It doesn't hurt that they have the same genetics and training.

He is the best skater in the whole draft, I don’t think he’s as good as Jack tho and he also could go 1OA. I think he’s a really good prospect, there’s just other guys I like more and think the devils should take whoever they think is best(maybe that’s Hughes)

If ever he's pissed that we didn't take his brother, I'd tell him to concentrate on being the hyped up superstar player he was labeled to be, work his ass off during the offseason and let the GM do his f***ing job.
