I’m honestly just shocked how much the Devils’ adjustments after game 2 have stifled this team.

Whatever changes they’ve made, we’ve gone from looking like we would sweep them/win in 5 to looking like the worst team in the NHL.

Is that not a direct indictment on the coaching staff when a team can change their approach mid-series and render the other team completely ineffective offensively? I’m not absolving the players completely because it isn’t a black and white issue, but something has to be said for how easy it was to counter our strategy.

I'm honestly still in awe. Last night I wanted to puke and was embarrassed to even be a fan of this team. I honestly am sick to my stomach knowing I'll tune in Saturday too.

I knew for like 3 days they were getting scored on in the first minute, that’s why I was in no rush to even put it on, first time in my life I did that for a Rangers playoff game, they don’t deserve my loyalty when they don’t show up to start themselves

Panarin is unmovable with that contract. And you can’t buy it out either. He’s not going anywhere.

Listen you have to give more ice to laf chytil and Kakko that’s really all you can do. They have to integrate with Panarin Mika Kreider and figure it out. Prob aren’t winning anything but that’s all u can do. Chytil getting 2C mins changes the makeup of the attack with his speed.

Vesey Trocheck Goodrow as a real checking grind it out third line

Cuylle Motte maybe comes back find a cheap center as always

Gotta let zac Jones play and figure it out. Need more offense from the back line.

You’re married to this group

The big move will be bringing in an Xs and Os coach
We can reset in 3 years when Panarin and Trouba are gone. Maybe trade Goodrow one year before his contract is up. That should be 23.2 million freed up. Let Shesterkin walk too. No point in spending 9M on a goalie when you can't score. That should be another 5.7 mil. 28.9 mil freed up. Probably free up another .5 million by getting a cheaper backup goalie. 29.4 In the meantime make your first round pick for the foreseeable future.

he's still very much at the "athlete who chose hockey" stage rather than the "hockey player who is athletic" stage.
The good news is that if he's this good while still raw there should be a load of improvement to come, but you do have to question whether he will be able to fully realise that potential (can his in-game IQ catch up to his physical skills), and whether the Rangers and him have the patience for it to happen here
and whether the Rangers can develop this player.

Laf manages to destroy most kid line shifts with his terrible hands and snail pace. Someone earlier mentioned he spends the off-season with his own coaches closer to home. At this point I’d put a stop to that and basically inform him he’s spending the entire summer glued to the ice with our staff or beginning the year in HFD. The lack of development over 3 years and his lackadaisical attitude.
It's probably true he needs better coaching. But do the Rangers have it? My suspicion is this is a major weakness with our organization - developmental coaching.

What do you even say after that? Before even touching the issues with their play and the game/series itself, the biggest thing that stood out was the fact that they flat out quit after the 3rd goal. I try avoiding going the effort route because I think far too many people equate results to their effort but you don't get outshot 20-2 in the 3rd when trailing by 3 if you're giving your best effort. There was no structure, odd man rushes all over the ice, guys skating like they didn't give a shit, etc. It's amazing how a team that came back from 2 different series down 3-2 or 3-1 as well as multiple games by multiple goals could look like they did last night. That was by far the most disappointing part of the game.

I don't know what positives there are except for the fact that Saturday's a new day. Doesn't look promising but just have to win one Saturday and go from there.

Also, the Hu/60 was f***ing so far through the roof, they can't even see the roof.

We just dont have enough players that 'hate to lose'

You dont get outshot 20-2 in the third period because of the coach. Game was over before it began

Mentally weak group of players.

Tired of Panarin in the playoffs, guy never has to face the media to answer to his invisible 11 million dollar act.

Well said, agree 100%

Kreider
Kane
Chytil
Trouba
Miller

All complete no-shows AGAIN. Also, please for the love of god, stop with the mercenary top-6 "talent" and develop 1 (just 1!!) consistently dangerous forward.

The only mercenaries that should ever be brought in at the deadline are players who fill a very specific need (i.e. Penalty killing specialist, Center with faceoff prowess, etc.)

Also, if you're a Ranger/Jet/Met/Knick combo like myself, it will be approx. 115 straight seasons without a Championship once we get knocked out on Saturday (assuming my math was correct at 4:30am while I was up all night wondering if the players were even having trouble sleeping themselves)

What if *hits joint* literally everyone is to blame?

*edit: except my bb Igor and to a lesser extent only a handful of others.
