The first move before firing Lalonde is trading for an actual NHL goalie and then improving the blue lines personnel.
Fabbri and Sprong battling the flu or something? Each have less than 10 minutes of ice time the last two games.
It could be because he is not 100%That's a good question.
The last couple games Fabbri's TOI has been under 9 minutes, down from around 15 on average. Especially when you consider they were down a forward last night. It's a similar situation for Sprong, though he typically gets less ice time than Fabbri.
People forget that through 20 starts last year Husso looked like a legit #1 and willed that team to their start. This year we have no such luck in net, if we had

Similar record, completely different team in front of him offensively. If we had .920 goaltending this season we'd be close to a top team.
I think they are both best served getting around 13 min a game. Obviously that is dependent on the game situation. For better or worse, the Copp-Ras-Perron line is our defensive (matchup) line. Having two players such as Fabs and Sprong who can feast on lesser matchups, bolsters our depth in a vital way. That's a good question.

They have a terrible streak with a bunch of injuries in December and suddenly Lalonde's an awful coach, Yzerman's a bad GM, all of the prospects suck, and the young players are overrated.
You guys are unreal.

I'm not saying the team hasn't sucked. They've been awful and the lack of team defense is really concerning -- but it's important to keep in mind that they were missing Larkin, Compher, Perron, and Husso for most of this stretch in addition to others for brief periods (Petry, Fischer, Kostin, Maatta, Lyon).I think without Larkin and Compher we should have been able to play defense. And with them back we should definitely be able to play defense by now. Injuries happen to everyone. I think it's not figure it out or the rebuild is a failure territory like some think, this was never that year. But there needs to be a little bit of accountability at this point, we are behind where we were at this marker last year with an improved roster in every position.
Perron is a 3rd line guy and Husso hasent been good in over a calander year.I'm not saying the team hasn't sucked. A piss-poor December stretch doesn't mean it's time to fire everyone and move the team to Atlanta.

You're likely spot on here..Just look at the usernames, lol.
The bandwagon fans are starting to disappear and the naysayers are back. The criticism about Lalonde, Kasper, Cossa, and Stevie's staff (Draper) has always been here.
I haven't given up on the season yet, especially now that Lyon is back. If Lyon plays as bad as Husso and Reimer THEN the team is screwed. This team is so soft though, I expect more injuries because opponents are gonna take liberties with the top players.
What metrics are you using? Who are you comparing against? And in what sense is it SY's "6th" year?Perron is a 3rd line guy and Husso hasent been good in over a calander year.
The absence of Larkin and Compher hurt 100%...however, in our 6th year of the SY rebuild, the team should be in a position to better withstand those absences for a few games w/o completely collapsing

The team is definitely positioned much better depth wise this year than in a long time, the fact that've struggled lately doesn't automatically invalidate that.
