The season has been great this far, but one thing i have to say is someone needs to tell Chiarot who and what he is. Almost lost my mind last game when Chiarot had Kane and Cat both open but decided to skate the puck up to redline and then give it to Kane and try to do some ridiculous give and go and skated first in to the offensive zone. Like dude, it's great that you have confidence but do you really want yourself being the one who takes it to the zone while Kane and Cat stand of one the blue line.

Now don't get me wrong Chiarot has not been bad, but some of his decisions are just incredible to me. Dude hoards the puck when there are forwards open and skates the redline and either dumps it and goes chasing or tries to carry it way too much for my liking.

I think Chiarot gets way too much crap this season for his defensive play but agree with your assessment of him carrying the puck. Unfortunately i think it's just engrained in the dude at this point that occasionally he's gonna go full Lebda.

Season could be tetering a bit here, depending on where some guys are at with injuries and add in the upcoming Perron suspension. Tough road back to back also coming up.

Wings are gonna have to dig deep this week.

Fischer has been really good lately when moved to center. I wouldn't mind at all if he stayed at center.

I think Compher will be ready to go tomorrow.

Ya this is for sure a rough stretch. I wonder if Yzerman stands pats or tries to make some moves to get us going again?

Even though Wings won against the Blues, i can't remember when i have last seen them being so bad in the d-zone. First period was pretty basic but then something happened. So many crazy giveaways and soft plays trying to get the puck out, they need to do something about it. I know they are missing 2 top centers and more, but even players like Seider did some ridiculous mistakes. I don't know if Blues changed something on their forecheck for the 2nd period which the team wasn't ready for or what it was, but Lalonde has to address it.

Then again Wings won and Blues fired their coach and got a worse one to replace him so i guess it's all good.

Last year we had a worse defense on paper and Lalonde had them defending well. Idk what changed. Seider like you said has made some mistakes, but that's expected. It's guys like Walman, Maatta, and Petry making mistakes that concerns me. (Holl, Godtisbehere, and Chiarot have always been mistake prone).

Yeah but last night wasn't even about the personnel, everyone was doing stupid shit. So many soft clearing attempts or dumb passes, it's like they weren't sure if they wanna get it out or pass the puck so they did both in the same time.

I know it's kinda dumb to whine after a W but also i thought Blues gained the zone way easier than the Wings with the puck. I think Wings defense looked better on PK than 5v5.

Feels like we've probably given up the most shorthanded goals in the league

I wonder if Sprong is my new Brunner, i always hyped Brunner up and felt like hes going to be a superstar. Now i feel the same way about Sprong, just give him the chance he deserves and he will be one of the best players in the league. i LOVE his game, i swear he needs to be on top6 over someone.

only thing I don't like about sprong that i've noticed, is that he tries to make an extra stick handle here and there and always loses the puck every time then goes slow on getting back on defense during this specific type of play. It gets annoying but I just love his shot and it has a lot of possibilities with it.

It is also annoying that they aren't setting him up on the powerplay for the one timers like they should have done with kubalik last year. They have great, hard shots, let them use it...jesus
