I think there will be a lot games where we have successful breakouts in the single digits

And it will only get worse once Tim "around the boards" Gleason comes into the lineup, or god forbid Mike Komisarek

Positives: Got a point against the Red Wings while the top line was complete dog **** most of the night. Faulk was very good. Cam looked sharp.

The tying goal was a product of Datsyuk and Zetterberg being real good at hockey and nothing else. Can't get too down about things like that. The offense was pretty non existent all night which is a cause for concern. Riley Nash had most of the best chances and unfortunately he has no talent so we saw where that went.

Murphy, Faulk, Ward and Gerbe all had good games. The D, breakout and PP issues are distressing. We may need to jump on a D trade and to get anything that might solve our issues would require a significant forward being sent the other way. Skinner or Tlusty I'd think. If we go 10 games and don't have at least 10 points it's gotta be done.

I think Murph looked pretty bad. Especially on the point of the PP

Unleashed some of my rage on a Red Wings fan who wouldn't shut up on the way out. Felt good. Still doesn't fix what I just witnessed, though. UGH.

You're right. Turnover was at about the 1:35 mark and it led to the Cam save. My bad.

Honestly, the D looked at least average tonight. They really only gave up a few good scoring chances. Most of it was to the outside and Cam made the big saves until the end (on goals that came after he already made the big save). It was obvious as AJJ pointed out that the breakout is going to be an issue. They kept either ripping it up the boards or throwing aerial passes up the middle that had no shot of connecting. The only breakouts worth a damn were Faulk or Murphy just skating up the ice.

The Wings be the Wings, y'all. We were always going to be outshot.

If Faulk gets hurt, our playoff dreams die. Christ that kid is good.

We were outplayed. Lindholm and Murph look way out place. Oh well. Got 1 point. On to Sunday

Lindholm was just unnoticeable. Few mistakes but what's expected from your first NHL game.

Murph looked good to me jumping in and showing his skating ability. Had a few good breakups. PP needed work altogether. That PP is damn shame.

The same crap ass habits reared their heads tonight, and we got a very typical result. I really hope this group can turn the corner soon, because if we get buried in the standings early (and yes, I know our October schedule is brutal), we're toast.

Lindholm did look out of place, but I thought Murphy looked as good as we could've realistically expected. He used his skating to his advantage, made a couple things happen on the PP, and overall had a good night.

Lindholm couldn't control the puck. In the limited amount of time he was on the ice he was in the right spot pretty much the entire time. He just fumbled the puck every time he got it.

The thing that pisses me off is this team notoriously gets off to **** starts before turning it around come February/March. We have a brutal stretch of games coming up and losing games giving up late goals isn't going to get us very far.

Yeah we got a point but those points we don't get are going to be adding up and losing out on both of them is what causes 9th place finishes.

I thought Murphy looked pretty good as well. Didn't really make too many mistakes, just had that one whiff on the power play.
