Proposal: Detroit-Anaheim

Fowler is worth more than Tatar. Especially considering Tatar is a small, undersized winger. The Pacific is different than the Eastern divisions.

Maybe it's just me because I've seen the Ducks play lots being in the same division, but I think Fowler carries more value alone than Tatar does.

When has any one suggested that it would be a straight up Tatar for Fowler, No one is suggesting that. It would be at least Tatar+Detroit 2nd round pick for Cam Fowler or maybe Tatar+Sheahan for Fowler+Anaheim 3rd round pick something like that. No one has suggested any thing around just Tatar for Fowler.

It's a done deal if Tatar + Mantha/ AA for Fowler straight up. But I sure as hell disagree taking Pulkkinen back. He fixes absolutely nothing but a fourth line role. If Detroit fans can come up on the price for Fowler I'm in agreement this is a fair trade.

Right so now Fowler is worth 2 1st round picks by himself, Yeah no Tatar is easily worth a mid-round 1st round pick and Mantha was the 21st overall pick no way does Detroit do Tatar+Mantha for just Fowler Fowler doesn't have that kind of value Anaheim better be adding a pick or a semi decent prospect at least.

No that is actually a reasonable concern with Tatar. Though on the opposite side, playing with those two could make Tatar explode. He's money with open ice which he hasn't had much of in Detroit with all our small players.

I can't help but laugh at the imagery there. Like a little puppy that gets so excited he pees.

But then...

And I think that's fair and in the best interest of anaheim.

Question is honestly think Sheahan is a better for for anaheim than tartar after this year.

What do see needed for Sheahan + aa/Mantha?

Also is there anyone you can trade for stoner? Less term or equivalent overpaid forward would work for us?

Fowler + stoner +?

Sheahan + aa/Mantha +?

Um no, you can't. Getzlaf and Perry play a pretty distinct style of hockey, not everyone is going to have optimal success in their cycle heavy game.

So you refer to my logic as "awful" because you don't like it, without providing any actual rebuttal as to why my claim about Tatar is unreasonable. Got it.

I actually see Tatar on a line with Kesler and Silf. They played really well with Cogs, but if you can get someone whose better offensively on that line, it could blow up offensively.

I'd add to Fowler to get Tatar+AA or Mantha. However, I don't see Holland moving the latter. Not sure how he feels about AA.

I don't see Holland trading AA, Mantha or Svechnikov...if he did trade one I think it would be Mantha

Just can't see Wings adding Mantha, AA, or even Svech at this point. The difference in value between Tatar and Fowler is not that steep imo.

:ducks
Tatar- Top 6 LW
Jurco- Top 9 W has some skill, can fit anywhere in lineup, not soft can play on 4th line
2017 1st (lottery protected)

:wings
Fowler- #2-3 D

I think that would be great the other thing from a fan perspective, if we're not going to go all in for a cup, we need to make sure to keep a strong surplus of draft pick and prospects to keep the team competitive.

How many times in HFBoards history are two fan bases waiting, mostly respectfully, for an agreed trade?

Most threads here are endless bickering about players, but these always seem to be ending with "Yeah, that seems fair, good deal, so... who wants lunch?"

Only if your fan base is paying for lunch....

We have an internal cap :sarcasm:

I think the thing is us Red Wings fans realize our problems on defense are so bad. We are willing to give away our 25+ goal scorer (because we have 2) = Nyquist or Tatar.

We are not trying to put another franchise over a barrel... we just want a D man, who is <27. Anyone agreeing to that who needs a winger.... match made in heaven.

Anaheim//Detroit fans have "mostly" agreed to this premise.

We will throw in lunch for everyone for weeks!

I don't think that's an ideal situation for Tatar, that line is tasked with the toughest defensive matchups on a nightly basis. If we acquired Tatar I'd match him up with Rakell and hope they find offensive chemistry.

I really hope there is something here after the RFA guys get taken care of by both organizations.

Fowler is something the Wings really need and the Anaheim could use the winger talent the Wings are willing to part with.

Agreed. Tbh, I don't want Fowler to leave, but, if he has to go, I really want the best for him. IMO, DET would be perfect for him for a number reasons. I really think a deal around Tatar + AA/Mantha would benefit both.

Fowler is a 2-3 dman, not a top tier one. Mantha with his size and skillset is too rare of an asset to give up for that. In any case Fowler is a detroit area native and might bolt for Detroit anyways In a couple years. So would you, as a GM, give up Mantha for a couple extra years of a 2-3 dman? Dosent make much sense.
You hit the nail on the head buddy. Everyone goes home all the time. That's why Stamkos is a Leaf, Ladd is a Canuck and Toews is a Jet.

As a neutral fan, Tatar+Pulkkinen for Fowler seems like a perfect fit. If need be, add smaller pieces (minor prospects, picks lower than 2nd) to balance it out, but in the end that's the best fit, no tinkering about with AA's or Jurco's.

Does Pulkkinen even have a positive value at this point?

Stoner would make Detroit's top-6 with ease.

How about Stoner for Pulk?

Win-win?

Not positive but I think Detroit doesn't exactly have room to take cap dumps, stoner is an nhl dmen but bottom pairing and over paid by 1.5-2 million
