Hostile Offer

Quinn Hughes was never projected to go in the top 5, he was a black horse to go there because of his offensive potential but I remember people considering him too risky for a top 5 pick. Detroit was his expected destination because of roots and the fact that they needed a top dman. Then Zadina "fell into their laps" which was a devil in disguise. Hindsight is another thing but guys like Tkachuk and Hughes were really polarizing at the time, Zadina wasn't.Montreal dealt that first from Carolina to Arizona as part of the Dvorak trade. So, that poster got it mixed up what became of the Carolina first rounder.
That was supposed to be a draft similar to the 2012 which was Dman heavy in the top 10. Dahlin went #1 as expected, but then Montreal, AZ and Det passed on Q. Hughes. Dobson went after Kravstov as well.
