I'll be stunned if he makes it to Philadelphia. I'll be annoyed if he makes it past us. He's probably not going to pan out, but we should absolutely be trying.
A bottom end team that isn’t going anywhere for a couple of years and has cap space to burn should def look pretty seriously at Zadina as a change of scenery guy.

Chicago has been giving away cap space like candy so it would make a lot of sense for them.

I remember everyone saying Carolina should take him and that they would be dumb not too lol.
TBF I think that was mostly fans of the teams picking immediately after Carolina hoping by some miracle of miracles the Canes would be dumb enough NOT to take the clear best forward in the draft (at the time, Tkachuk is that guy now) and making up convoluted reasons for us NOT to take Svech like the fact that Zadina played with Necas at the WJCs as if that's worth a f***.

At that production? 4th.

I really don't know that all is lost with the guy. But whatever he aint getting, he probably aint getting here.

It's a hard one to give up on because you don't want to look back in 5 years and say "Oh shit he's a 25-25 guy that plays really responsible hockey, and we waived him," but as he stands right now, there's been zero signs of that.

This is a very reasonable explanation, thank you. High Picks are obviously tough to give up on.

I always hope that these young players reach their potential, but perhaps he remodels his Game to become an effective bottom 6 player down the road, in another location.

As @norrisnick mentioned, maybe a sports psychologist can help in in his mental approach to the Game.

Surprised Chicago wouldn't take a 3rd round pick to take on 4M in salary over two years with potential to flip him if he rebounds into a young break out 40pt two way forward next year for another 2nd round pick or so.

I doubt the Hawks are taking on another bust. Bowman isn't running things any more.

I'm sure Zadinas family is telling him to pack up his things and come back home because there's a new delicatessen opening up down the street and he can put those hockey skills into slicing ham that's on sale.

The guys washed and from the looks of an article and tweet here had only one actual fan who believed in the hype.

Generational meat slicer

VAN fans really the only ones who can laugh here.

MTL reached for KK. Then didn't match him. Then used that pick to take a guy with some personal issues who openly said don't draft me.

OTT didn't take Zadina, but still took a consensus Top 4 player at number 4, so nothing risked there.

AZ reached hard for Hayton because the OG Stat Boy (Chayka) loved his metrics.

DET was pegged to take Hughes and had what they perceived as a consensus Top 4 fall in their laps.

It's VAN that gets to laugh for Hughes suddenly being hot-potatoed to them.
