Pretty sure we haven't found out if anybody's take him yet.

Think the greater point (Highlighted a few replies ago) is that if a $2M contract to a developing rookie is your "LOL YZERMAN" evidence, you're pretty pathetic.

Maybe go drag your nuts on one of the UFA signings this week instead. Then we can talk about how adding depth with zero risk of hurting the team's cap structure somehow is a bad thing.
I meant why didn't anyone trade for him, even for a 7th. I don't think anyone is saying this is the big Yzerman shot, but he's had a not too great off-season this year and last year. This contract isn't his worst offense obviously but it wasn't a good move either as evidenced by the fact no one would trade a 7th for him.

You can tell that Zadina wants to be an impact top 6 forward in the NHL and a goal scorer with the way he plays and he’s getting down on himself and frustrated which only further hampers his play

The sooner he realizes that maybe he can carve out an NHL roles as a two way 3rd line guy he will settle down and likely improve as a player .

Just my opinion
I think that summarizes it nicely.

Why because people don't like Chiarot and Copp?

Our team was a ton better than the previous season compete-wise and he made moves like getting Walman who proved to be a perfect compliment and possible long term partner to Seider.

Don't let facts get in the way of people getting their dunks and gotchas off,

So, the guy is good defensively, and has decent size? Seems like he could be converted to a bottom six wing?
Having decent size and using it are two different things.

Before he dropped in the draft, his combined numbers raised some eyebrows and he seemingly has never done anything to correct that.

I don't see why he'd clear. He's still got value, even if there was absolutely no offensive potential for the future.
Probably because teams think they can get Detroit to throw something in or get them to retain if they take him. If Detroit does not have any arbitration cases then there is no second window for them to buy him out and only eat $1.56 mill in real money. They would be on the hook for his $4.68 mill balance of his full contract.

I'm not sure why any GM would think Detroit would do this, considering they're $10M under the cap with a full roster...

To keep a disgruntled player who has asked for a trade out of the locker room.

Really at this point, not sure where he ends up playing in 23/24

Zadina being pissy in the GR locker room would actually be a fantastic example for the kids to see.

"How to f*** up your career."

Man, there's a lot of people making this comment and all you had to do was Google or read like 15 replies in to see that Zadina wasn't an Yzerman pick.
Apologies, 2019 would have been his first draft. He would still have some ownership for the kid's development, but if you're a dud, often you're just a dud. Zadina doesn't look overly rushed to the NHL. Maybe another AHL year helps.

I'm still mostly unimpressed with Yzerman, but this guy clearly shouldn't be a big part of any analysis since he did not pick him.

Of course, the incoming guy has to make some quick judgements of kids in the system and trade the bad picks. In 2019, clearly, Yzerman could have traded this guy and didn't. He owns that.

I doubt the Hawks are taking on another bust. Bowman isn't running things any more.

I'm sure Zadinas family is telling him to pack up his things and come back home because there's a new delicatessen opening up down the street and he can put those hockey skills into slicing ham that's on sale.

The guys washed and from the looks of an article and tweet here had only one actual fan who believed in the hype.

Generational meat slicer
Hockey skills help to slice ham?

He's a guy where I wonder what impact a solid stretch of even like 5 goals in 7 games would do for his confidence.

It seems like he is just full of doubt which makes you second guess yourself and makes you largely useless.

He might be clustering like that because his confidence is so low that on a sub-conscious level he doesn't actually want the puck because he doesn't trust himself.

Was always hoping he would get on a hot streak to see if it boosted his confidence, but unfortunately didn't happen thus far.
