teams choose to attack the brodie-Gio pair on Brodies side 2 seasons ago.
they ended up being on eof the 3 best 1st comp D pairs in the game.

Paired with hillers top 8 HSCA save% goaltending they made the playoffs.

Last year teams attacked Giordano's side.
Brodies play was still similar but Giordano's side wa an unchallenged path to the 10 to 20% success shots.

Hiller had top 8 HSCA save% result on 4 of the D sides.
but was decimated by Gio's and Russel's free path to the net.

the point is Brodie is one of the 10-15 best Def d in the game.

Normally Yes, But since DDK took Detroit to arbitration. And Ken Holland took Mrazek to arbitration. Detroit gets another 2nd buy out the Rangers just got one as well.

Exactly, This way DDK had 1 year of RFA left and with this deal he eats 5 years of UFA at slightly more money. Detroit will do this to Mrazek as well with a 2 year bridge deal that takes him up to 26 years as well then he gets his long term deal like DDK just got as well.
