Stay away from overpaying depth players on multi year contracts on free agency day
Seems they were right to chance him out of town. Enjoy that contract
Oh no, 2 years at Ahl reduction in 3.4 cap hit, however will Detroit recover?
Already pissed away a 2nd round pick to open up 3.4M in cap by dumping Walman.
There's a real cost to dumb signings like Holl.
They didn't piss away anything. That move was made for cap space, cause they had another trade that fell through. Nothing to do with Holl.
To be fair, he also made a big mistake with Andrew Copp. Are the clubs, especially ones trying to compete, that don’t make mistakes along the way? Yzerman made a mistake signing this guy, but all GMs make mistakes. It’s whether they can accept their mistakes (and therefore fix them) that determines if their club can grow.
Does Yzerman accept his mistakes and fix them? Or does he allow his ego to determine what’s best for the club to move forward in its development into a winner? To be fair, he also made a big mistake with Andrew Copp.
His recent UFA signings were pretty bad.

Wouldnt have needed to do that if Holl's cap space was free.

The problem is it’s not one mistake. It’s Holl, Copp, Chiarot, Husso, etc
He should trade for Josh Anderson.I don't believe Yzerman would make a *mistake* like this , imo it was calculated , he is a genius and would a genius sign Holl to 3 years 3.4? All part of the plan boys

Who is your team?Does Yzerman accept his mistakes and fix them? Or does he allow his ego to determine what’s best for the club to move forward in its development into a winner?
Holl, yes, other than that no.The problem is it’s not one mistake. It’s Holl, Copp, Chiarot, Husso, etc

I like Copp, Chiarot and Husso. Holl was the only disappointment of that group.
I thought Chiarot was the reason Seider had a poor season by his standards.
yzerman got lucky drafting russians but now he is lostDoes Yzerman accept his mistakes and fix them? Or does he allow his ego to determine what’s best for the club to move forward in its development into a winner?
