Those guys listed far outperformed expectations from when they were prospects. McAvoy and Makar both stepped into playoff rosters and still were amongst the top players. High hopes, indeed.
Slavin is Sandersons floor. Jake will be a great NHL defender but his offensive ceiling is much higher.

Yeah you are right. Debrincat is a physical beast that is completely Elite. Much higher tier than Draisaitl, Huberdeau, Ovechkin, Marchand or Panarin. If he was on a better team he would have one back to back to back Art Ross & Hart Trophy's.

Appreciate the reasoned analysis. I don't think that anyone is saying Debrincat is anything but a good player. Asset value and past performance are not perfectly aligned, particularly in a cap environment.
