Agree. Lots of commentators discuss the Jets' lack of "elite" talent, but Samberg is moving into elite territory as an anchor shutdown D. That gives the Jets strong anchors for the top 4 D with Morrissey and Samberg.Samberg was an absolute monster tonight the guy is heading into the stratosphere and becoming one of the best shutdown D in the league
Yeah I really wasnt a fan of that play, but I'm guessing being 2 up had a bit of an impact on that decision.KC got a bit greedy at the end, lost his chance to clear the puck twice before finally sniping it from 150ft
I mean I wanted to even when they lost to the Avalanche.Get in line.
I was gonna say. Aren't we supposed to split up 55 and 81 because charts and graphs? It has been pretty quiet about the top line around here lately.
I also think the Jets disrupted their line-up (top 6) last season at the TDL and went away from their high paced pressure system. Monahan and Toffoli relegated Namestnikov and Perfetti and slowed the top 6. Chevy recently indicated that they realized they needed more speed in the lineup. Namestnikov and Perfetti play faster than Monahan and Toffoli and the 4th line with Kupari at C is a nightmare for teams that can't handle speed and pressure.Bruce Boudreau explained the Jets success the best. He said they have been building a good team for the last few years and last year they were the 4th best in the NHL last year … they just had on bad week.
Jets' depth players are very good. Kupari is becoming a force. Iafallo is very effective. Barron is big, fast and good at puck possession.Agreed. Our depth players have really stepped up nicely. Arniel seems to have a real nice handle on this team.
Does Mike Commodore have mental illness or something? WTF is this.View attachment 929966
Awfully quiet now.

Did I say that out loud?

A few of us oldtimers play faster than Monahan and, definitely, Toffoli.I also think the Jets disrupted their line-up (top 6) last season at the TDL and went away from their high paced pressure system. They disrupted the top 6? Weird way to say they fixed the power play. Monahan and Ehlers were 4th/5th in Jet scoring and Taffoli, Monahan and Ehlers had 7 goals each was tied for 3rd on the Jets. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves rewriting history.I also think the Jets disrupted their line-up (top 6) last season at the TDL and went away from their high paced pressure system. Another year of experience and some better wingers and I’ll bet he does well. All three are good for the 4th line, but I think there is still more to Kupari and Barron.Rasmus Kupari is the best Finn the Jets have ever had!
Jkjk - but man, did we absolutely bend over the LA Kings on that deal. I feel kind of bad for Gus Bus because I really thought he was rounding into a useful guy on the team, but Kupari is an everyday player now and I am starting to believe if he can put the puck in the net a little more he could be our solution at C. Size, speed, hands, tenacity, not afraid to go to the dirty areas. Developing his faceoff prowess - he should really compliment 2 wingers who like to shoot and have great shots.
I love how we immediately followed up a 8 game win streak with a 7 game win streak.I like how the next longest win streak in the NHL right now after the Jets 7 games is….2 games
I'm starting to lose faith in Barron. I like his game but I really don't think he has the finishing instinct.Another year of experience and some better wingers and I’ll bet he does well. All three are good for the 4th line, but I think there is still more to Kupari and Barron.

Either way he's a great 4th line and we need that.
Not exactly a newbie, as I regularly posted here in the past but I am attributing the great start to the season this year (and last year too!) to my sporadic posting. Yep, making myself scarce on HF Jets was the key to unlocking the best out of the team. GJGAlso, I would like to welcome all of the new users to our board - I guess we really are a wagon.
Yeah I think last year’s playoffs really took our eyes off what the team actually accomplished last season and the potential they held this season.
