The Jets just have so many bad habits that it's hard to believe that coaching isn't a problem, how can it not be?

For sure Vegas will win this series. Everybody was getting a little over excited after the first game when McKinnon was declared the best player in the world. And they have looked like exact trash in the past few games. Vegas is out playing them in every aspect.

I agree, and even in Game 2 where Vegas lost, I thought they totally dominated the Avs. I'm quite sure Vegas takes this series, however, I was quite sure the Jets would take the Habs quite easy. You never know.

At minimum in the off season Huddy needs to go, it's just not the defencemen on this team the whole d zone system is terrible

Yup. Jets weren't good with Scheif and Demelo either. They were just better players on the roster. Demelo means Benn doesn't play. Poolman don't play top pair minutes. You can shelter big Stan who seems to be exposed by smaller quicker players.

Scheif is a ppg seasoned #1 center. But Stastny Dubois Copp Lowry. I mean wth right. Better than Montreal no? Ehlers Connor Dubois wheels Appleton Perreault... Solid wingers still.

So gotta ask really... What gives. It's coaching.

Huddy runs the pairings and bench but I don't think he's in charge of systems. I hope Lowry takes on those duties as well as the continuing his good work on the PK next year.

I would actually like to replace Huddy with a skills coach who's main job is to grow player capabilities and skills.

Morrissey and Pionk are very solid NHL d men. The other 4 including Stanley are not. Pionk and Morrissey are the only 2 guys who can make passes. The other 4 are pretty much garbage and bring Morrissey and Pionk down badly.

Mo and Pionk both need top talent to be top tier. Neither of these guys is top pairing without the right partner.
Put Stanley with either one of them and they are better and at the same time, Stanley wouldn't be "garbage" (as you put it).

The problem with small dmen is they are usually weak in their own end - they can't break up plays, can't clear the front, and they can't stop a cycle.
Pionk gives it the old college try but he's mostly ineffective against even avg size forwards - in other words he's small.
On top of that, he's slow - which is not a good trait for a small dman.

JoMo is similar - he needs help to look effective (ala Trouba)
Pair these guys with larger, mobile Dmen and they are much more than they are now.

And BTW, Stanley can make a pass - he's shown us that.

Out goaltender? I don't think so. Montreal literally has double the amount of shots we do this series or damn near and the majority of theirs are from 15 feet out. Ours are floaters from the point... Their point shots get deflected with 2 Habs screening Helle and he still makes saves he shouldn't... We take floaters from the point with nobody in front.

The fact anyone can even remotely suggest outgoaltended is just ridiculous. Montreal is winning 3 0 if Jake Allen plays.

Everybody and their dog knows you need to score dirty goals in the playoffs ... you need to be in their goalie's face and yet NOT one Jet is in the cease when a shot it taken from the point or slot. If Hellebuyck played against the Jets he would break the record for shutouts.

I am not really mad about this loss. I felt the death knell when Parros changed the series. Felt a lot like last year where Scheifele went out in game 1 against the Flames. With Laine and Appleton. This time no De Melo, and Stastny (until tonight, where he threw the game away on the powerplay and then threw it away with bad penalties.). And well the guy we traded Laine for, he hasn't showed up yet either.

Habs are the better team, with our depth tested. You could go up and down the lineup. 4 lines. They have wingers who can score and drive offense. They have the centre depth, and a top 4 on defense that makes it tough to get second chances or even close to Carey Price. Without our centres, besides Lowry contributing much offensively, our wingers just can't get the breaks. Even though there have been some good things from Wheeler, Ehlers in particular, and Connor.

We just don't matchup well for this series. The Habs are getting early leads, and generating speed against our slower defense with simple touch plays, that just don't seem that easily available to our team, which is constantly getting shots from the perimeter, save a few good setups. They are also having a lot less trouble getting to the net, which is playoff hockey.

If there is anything I can assess it's that we need to upgrade on d. Can't go into the season next year so thin on defense. Poolman can't be a top 4 d-man on a contending team. He and Forbort are probably bottom six d-men on most teams. The one positive I think has been Stanley's play, looks poised for a rookie.

With Pionk, Morrissey, Heinola, Stanley, De Melo, should we keep them all, there's some good pieces. Samberg could be a factor too.

Also whoever is running the special teams, what the hell is wrong with our PP. That's some of the worst setups I've seen. No threats anymore. Very predictable. Remember when it was Wheeler and the 4 headed monster?

I don't know if we are being outcoached or outplayed or both, but it's been tough to watch, after such an emotional victory over Edmonton.

He was 'okay' when he wasn't playing with Wheeler. The two of them together should simply not happen...

Armia is a very underrated player. So I can definitely understand your fan base missing him. Out of curiosity. Was there another Jets player that yourself or other Jets fans wanted to see go instead?

The Jets are a good team, Scheifele just made a huge mistake and that f***ed the team up.

The Jets are right now gripping their sticks too hard and are not thinking straight.

This falls on the coach, the coach has to get this sorted out but the Jets coach has no idea what to do.

If the Jets were smart they fire Maurice and go after Gallant hard, I think he he would be the perfect coach for this team.

Unfortunately this series is over.

How about just start with firing the coach and work from there.
Seriously if Cassie wonders why Ehlers is not on PP1 imagine what a good coach can do.
Also at $8+ Million Wheeler needs to go too.
With that $8+ Million they can sign Armia and still have $5 M to sign a D-man.
Remember when most of the posters on here were glad to see Chiarot gone?
