GDT: DEADLINE DAAYYYYYYYY

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
We will be up to 17 forwards with Kakko and Rooney back, bit worried the news isn't going to be good on one or both of them, hope not the case.

With the situation in Russia, and the Ruble disappearing, we have A LOT more leverage with Krav than we did before.

He comes from a Russian military family. I doubt we ever see him in a Rangers uniform or in the NHL for several years.

I give Drury a B for this deadline.

He spent a lot of mid-level assets. A lot. I hate that he not only had to give up a prospect on top of the two seconds, but he had to attach a condition to the second.

But if this was the price of appeasing the owner, he managed to navigate through it without spending a single prime asset on a rental. Which is what I feared.

On top of that, in a vacuum I like the Vatrano deal and while he clearly overpayed for Copp by including both Barron AND the condition, I like I like Copp the player.

Team should be fun. That condition should really have been if they make the Stanley Cup Finals it turns to a first, though.

As an aside, this spending spree better be a result of the "we have unlimited cap space," obsession, because you cannot be parting with 5 draft picks and a prospect every deadline. Those middle round picks are needed for your system even if they don't become NHLers.

People choose their fields, doesn't mean they agree with what course of action leadership decides to take. His family is probably pushing him back to North America. I spent a few of my 20 years on foreign soil, would be the last place I would want to send any of my children. Nobody likes war (even Putin), especially if you don't have a choice in the matter. The Russian people don't have a say, neither does any Russian military member outside of leadership's close circle...Very sad for Eastern Europeans as a whole...

If they like their ELC guys in Hartford for example and plan to sign some of them to second deals OR if you want some AHL vets you run out of contract slots at some point. I'd imagine its monetizing some of that.

I'd give Drury a B+/A. I don't think we gave much up. We have a whole host of kids coming up the pipeline. So many in fact, that I almost feel like they weren't used enough to bargain with. I wouldn't have gone batshit and traded everything away, but I'm shocked some of the more fringe prospects we already know didn't get moved.
