Had high hopes. Really like the kid. Good luck to him

Seemed like the Rangers wanted him to play wing and not center - with Otthman on the way and also Cuylle that loss isn’t terrible. Also retained Roberston, Jones and Nils which can easily be used to flll other holes. Not the end of the world.

I asked, he's a center and played LW, they have Lowry at 3C. He can be a C here.

This is a now very deep team. Chytil has legit linemates that can play. There are 4 bottom 6 guys that can kill penalties, could take some responsibility off Zibanejad and Kreider. Laf and Kakko are not blocked from top 6 roles that they can continue to grow in. McKegg, Hunt, Brodzinski, Gauthier, etc. do not need to see the lineup.

We need to move prospects at some point. We can't fit them all. Barron was a mediocre prospect. The fact that we hauled in four decent roster players who are all going to be slotting in immediately without giving up a clear first or any of our D-propsects / Krav, Othmann, etc is impressive.

We can't stand pat forever and perhaps we can get Copp a little cheaper if he likes playing the experience playing for us. He would really cement our bottom 6.

Drury, rolling the dice.. Only thing that saves his butt on the Copp trade is the early exit 2nd round clause. 2023 draft won't be worth watching if we make it to the ECF. Winnipeg wins the trade if we do and fail to re-sign Copp.. Deeper draft... Plenty of Morgan Barron's floating around the hockey world...
