Chris Campoli move comes to mind as a disaster like this potentially

Some of the same people praising Rundblad deal also tried to tell me that Campoli move wasn't a disaster at time

Campoli move was done out of desperation no? Didn't we desperately need some 3rd pairing help at the time?

Campoli got the Hawks into the playoffs this year. Also, what was the disaster that befell the Hawks by not having that pick. In the 2011 only 2 players drafted after the 10th pick overall have played more than 82 NHL games. Those players, Brandon Saad and Andrew Shaw.

Corey Crawford got Hawks into playoffs that year (As well as Minnesota Wild) not Campoli

Again, no one said anyone is perfect. You can point out a couple negatives, rightfully so if you wish, and everyone can point out ten-fold the positives, hence benefit of the doubt has been garnered by some. Big picture, stepping back and taking a breath, a late second round pick in an average draft was given up for a young defenseman with offensive upside. What's the big deal? Especially if it's a deal that leads to another deal, none of us know. You don't have to like the deal, but the gross overreaction to it is just nonsensical to me.

The Hawks would of likely missed the playoffs without the help of Campoli. You ought to understand what disaster and sensibility are. When one starts becoming just cynical and never open or skeptical, it makes them a laughing stock.

I fail to see how moving a 2nd round pick is a disaster in any sense of the imagination. You're grasping at straws BWC.

I remember you calling the Oduya trade a disaster too, and the Emery signing, and many others.

Campoli takes his QO he's still logging minutes on someone's blueline. He's not in the league because he pissed off a number of GM's during the lockout. Calling that trade a disaster is more of BWC's extremism.

We lost out on Shane Prince thanks to that trade. Lament my friends.

Campoli was 4th among Hawks defensemen on ATOI after the trade. He was critical to the Hawks for that stretch run.

Not sure he was critical, but he filled a much needed hole at the time. Aside from his brutal giveaway vs. the Nucks that no one will ever forgive him for, he was pretty decent.

Lets take a trip back to 2012:

Yep

Also takes away valuable assets that could have been used in trades in summer

Pathetic move by Bowman

Oduya is weak ,, Makes Lepisto look like superman in comparision

Oduya is 30 yr old who plays D as bad as a 21 yr old and a 20 yr old

Oduya is not a defensive dman. He has always been liablity in his career in his own end

Campoli > Oduya ,,, God what an awful trade this was

Sorry but Oduya has been #### for last 2 years

Stop embarrassing yourself BWC, we have seen this song and dance before. Hopefully this trade turns out as horribly as the Oduya one.

He hasn't been a healthy scratch since the beginning of the season and is getting 13+mins a game. That is hardly even close to a tweener.

51 GP
7 goals (ranks 10th on Preds)
9 assists (ranks 13th on Preds)
16 pts (ranks 13th on Preds)
-12 (2nd worst among forward in Nsh)
13:06 TOI (4th liner most of year)

He has 3 goals + 3 assists in his last 24 games and his TOI had dropped in 2014 (Several games he has barely played 9 minutes)

Sure as hell looks like an AHL/NHL tweener to me

At time Oduya was joke

It is amazing what a coach like Q can do with a guy like him ,, Don't see what Q can do with anyone like Rundblad

A guy who has no defensive game at all and couldn't be saved by Tippett (A guy who gets most out of dmen)

He has had 3 games under 10mins, and 5 games over 14mins in 2014. He isn't close to a tweener. he is an NHLer. Just not a very good one.

Ah, so in your extensive viewings of Rundblad you know for a fact that there is nothing Q can do with him, even though you were saying basically the exact same things when the Oduya trade happened as you are saying now. Gotcha. Makes perfect sense. I mean it couldn't be that you are just an irrational fan that makes snaps judgements and then posts like a mad man saying the same things over and over again.

Precisely. There's a big difference between that and being an actual tweener. Viktor Stalberg is an NHL player, period.

That was also some sweet backtracking on Oduya, BWC. Maybe you should apply past lessons going forward instead of doing what you're doing here all over again. Just going in circles, man.
