I think you need to re-read. You're completepy off of what I said. Nothing to do with Juniors, nor about being PPGHe's close to PPG in junior tournaments! PPG in junior is nothing for such high picks. He scored 20 points in 30 pro games this year, if you take out 8, it makes 12. It's nowhere near PPG.
what are we doing here,No kid will say they don't want to play in the NHL right away.
I think Hughes said he wasn’t projecting him on the PP.

More PPG than Ovy.
Michkov doesn't want to play in the NHL? ok bud. I just see Michkov with higher ceilling and we need an offensive superstar. I ranked Michkov higher like pretty much everyone else. Habs went for the safer pick. We will see which decision was the better. I don't hate Reinbacher, just wanted Michkov, but hey it's life. All that for saying that he doesn't play like Pronger at all, and yes I've watch some tape.i dont understand how people can want a kid that doesnt even want to play in north america over a kid with a good head on his shoulders that can keep a full time job as a head hunter while being a top NHL prospect
That’s way too deep for this forumwhat are we doing here,

Sure budmichkov is unmotivated,,
most of us had Reinbacher #2 on our lists behind Bedard
This pick has to many similarities to the 2005 Carey Price pick. The reaction from fans is pretty much exactly the same.
I've definitely warmed up to Reinbacher. I think I understand what Hughes is trying to build. Michkov would've been great for sure, but maybe they're just really high on Caufield being the superstar that we all think Michkov could be. Whether that will be the case remains to be seen.
Reinbacher, Hutson, Guhle, Mailloux, Xhekaj, Barron, Harris, Struble, Engstrom all under 23 is a very good place to be sitting when it comes to the future of the D-corp.
We all want that 100 point guy, but if you look at the past 10 cup winners, none of them had a 100 point forward...
I believe Suzuki and Caufield can become reliable PPG players. With a proper supporting cast built around those two, and a mobile puck moving defensive corp that can also be very solid in their own zone could make for a pretty competitive team imo. All that's missing is a goalie prospect to take charge and show they can be a true #1.
Valid point. It’s a really weak argument.
Defensemen take longer to hit their prime and make an impact, it made a lot of sense to add someone like Reinbacher to the fold now. Waiting another 1-3 years could hold this core back.
It wasn’t the sexy pick most of us wanted, but it was a smart pick.
Cole and SuzukiValid point.
Question: When was the last time the Habs had a true PPG+ player that can lead the offence, the you put when you have 2 minutes left and you know that if he has a shot, he is going to score?
The answer is Lafleur. Michkov might not be that guy but he might. That chance is well worth the #5 and worth much more than Reinbacher. But some people don’t want to lose their jobs because Slafkovsky had a bad year. Imagine if they have two top picks fail…
The Habs need a Lafleur, but they also need a Markov/Subban.Valid point.

The difference is Price was categorized potentiel franchise player for the start. As soon as I saw Carey on the podium I knew it couldn't be Michkov, I was like they're sending us a message through this!
oh shit. Right on. Did you have the same handle? I think I remember it. My memory is garbage. So you know my sordid past! haha. It's ok, but nothing to write home about. As you said somewhere else, 2nd pairing D is probably his floor. 2nd shutdown defenseman is probably his ceiling. But Hedman he is not.
It's 3 goals and 19 assists. Let's not go crazy here.
You know, I remember you (and Larek) from the old Habfans boards. Aren't you tired of this boring defensive safeness we've been engaging in for 30 years? How has the worked out for us? Vegas showed up 6 years ago, engaged in competent roster building, and now have a cup to their name.
Molson is a horrible f***ing owner, much worse than many of the other ones. I'm sure his panties were in a knot after the Mailloux controversy a few years ago. I hope that we are one day rid of him. Maybe then, I'll take a look at the team again.
Ah, Here's Arpon Cucksu to to do some shilling damage control for his meal ticket.
Caufield might… that is true.Cole and Suzuki
honestly it looks like Koko is developing into that too with the Canes unfortunately
The difference is Price was categorized potentiel franchise player for the start.
Michkov had that same potential franchise player potential
Reinbacher? Not so much. Hughes even said he had potential of a 2D. Not even top D.
Completely different.
Too many false equivalencies and assumptions. The Flyers didn’t have a choice between Reinbacher and Michkov and since when is that organization one to emulate? Would they have been elated if Reinbacher was their pick? How elated would Arizona (who also passed on Michkov) be if Reinbacher were available? We can see that the Habs are well connected in Russia and we have some evidence that they are competent evaluators of talent given last year’s trades and draft picks (which have conveniently been forgotten). What about the professionals who watched Michkov play on behalf of the Flyers?
Apparently they saw something completely different than the Habs.
If there were so many red flags or they were so obvious, how did the Flyers not act on them? How does a selection so close to the Habs’ 5th, cause a state of complete elation? Could it be that the Flyers know something that we don’t?
What if the Flyers were impressed when they spent time with him and his family (which despite our vast resources, we didn’t do). Could that not be possible too? Is that not a more hands-on due diligence act?
Organizations that surround themselves with yes-men are doomed to fail and that’s in any arena. If I were Habs management, I would not be using that argument as evidence of strong decision-making. They need different POVs around the table and based on how they all reacted on that critical decision that was this unique opportunity in a rare, quality forward draft, it does not bode well.
Have you seen Kucherov? This pick has to many similarities to the 2005 Carey Price pick. The reaction from fans is pretty much exactly the same.

Man idk why they're saying he projects as a 2D with no PP.Caufield might… that is true.
But having another one could not hurt. It would help a lot actually.
Specially considering Hughes said Reinbacher is potential a #2 D with no PP.
Doesn’t feel like a top 5 pick in an incredible draft.
The fact that the Habs scouts were unanimous Reinbacher was the pick... They should all be fired and Lapointe should be the first to go. They are trying to PR their asses out of this.
We could also try and find a KHL prospect who had an entire team built around him and given every possible opportunity to produce. That’s not the norm for KHL prospects. He's close to PPG in junior tournaments! PPG in junior is nothing for such high picks. He scored 20 points in 30 pro games this year, if you take out 8, it makes 12. It's nowhere near PPG. Now we need to find similar undersized russians who scored at that rate and compare.
