Come on, the team was built around him! He was showcased. Remember when Galcheyuk scored 30 in a losing season, remember RHP in pace for 2nd line production last year? And you say my arguments are bullshit. Are you seriously comparing Mitchkov to Ovy?
Yes your arguments are BS and for further proof, two 20something years old first step in the NHL vs Michkov who played against men in the 2nd best league in the world as a draft year prospect. It's a worthless argument.

Russians are comparing them, with all the respect they have for Ovy. And i was comparing their stats at 18 years old, bityou're so lost you need to rely on some tripe like "are you seriously comparing blah blah" can't even admit to yourself that you were wrong.

Yes even if you remove their points against the weakest team, Michkov has a better PPG than Ovy at 18 years old in the KHL/RSL. It's a relevant comparison of draft year production, which you seem unwilling to deal with probably because of the foggy haze of too much copium.

Have you seen Kucherov?

I'm not saying anything about our pick here, but to say Kucherov isn't really an 100 point player is kind of... twisting the truth.
I'll give you that one, but naming one player in 10+ years of Stanley Cup teams isn't the strongest argument.

Well built teams win championships, not superstar players. Having one sure helps though hehe, but the team building aspect is the most important imo.

Yes your arguments are BS and for further proof, you just compared two guys who played against teens vs Michkov who played against men in the 2nd best league in the world.

Galchenyuk didn't play against teens when he scored 30 in the NHL, neither did RHP, I never talked about their junior years but I had them as an example of how playing on a losing team can bolster your numbers.

You are comparing the KHL in 2k with the KHL in 2023, there is a major difference, the talent is dilluded in 2023 in comparison with 2k.

Sorry for the rhetoric thing, I didn't mean to laugh at you, it was rather a professional deformation from my part.

What would be the best for David ? Laval or Swiss league ?

I would actually like to have him in Laval with Adam Nicholas close to help him in his development. We could sign a good AHL vet with NHL experience to pair him with.

But if he wants to stay in Swiss for finishing I totally respect that

It's a stupid worthless argument. People are comparing Josi stats with Reinbacher at the same age in the same league. It's the same thing. It's f***ing relevant. Put down the copium pipe. Your own comparison is worthless because both Chucky and RHP WERE IN THEIR f***ING TWENTIES. How hard is it to understand the difference between doing that as a draft year 17-18 years old compared to guys in their early twenties??? Complete BS.

i can use Kucherov's stats. Or Kaprizov. Or Tarasenko. It's the same deal and more recent, but you're so ignorant of the subject, you don't even understand I'm simply using Ovy because HE WAS THE ONE WITH THE HIGHEST PPG AS AN 18 YEARS OLD in the KHL/RSL. NOT KUCHEROV, NOT TARASENKO, NOT KAPRISOV, NOT PANARIN. OVY. For f***'s sake.

I’m hoping Laval, seeing him in the AHL would really allow us to stack him up against what Nemec and Jiricek did. Reinbacher should be able to step in and be similarly effective. Taking him 5th in this draft, I think performing at that level would be “par”. If he were able to come in and be even better than what Jiricek was, then he’d be tracking extremely well. If he were to struggle, I think that would be major cause for concern.

Since drafting Lafleur, in 50 years, have you heard Habs brass willing to go out on a limb like Philadelphia brass just did: we just drafted a guy who will give us « 100 points+ season« !.
I want less « buckets » and « culture » and more « we drafted an elite forward that will give us 100+ seasons » That’s hard data. That’s leadership. That’s confidence,

Is it really possible neither FLyers nor Caps offered any asset to trade up and switch with us?

Reinbacher better be much, much better than Barron and Mailloux to use a 5OA on him.
Caufield might… that is true.

But having another one could not hurt. It would help a lot actually.

Specially considering Hughes said Reinbacher is potential a #2 D with no PP.

Doesn’t feel like a top 5 pick in an incredible draft.

The fact that the Habs scouts were unanimous Reinbacher was the pick... They should all be fired and Lapointe should be the first to go. They are trying to PR their asses out of this.

Baffles me that it’s unanimous. What do we have here , just a bunch of yes men? To worried about losing their job ? Not a single person for Leonard, MM or anyone else ? Concerning.

I would prefer him in Laval too seing how ut turn out for Seider and Jiricek

But I will never prevent a kif of finishing school

But I also heard that there is some concern among Canadiens brass about bringing Reinbacher to Montreal or Laval right away in light of the torches and pitchforks running through the fan base right now, and that exposing him to that immediately might do more harm than good.

Good job you f***ing babies.

Cool down my friend, I know you're still mad because they didn't pick your guy, but it's not my fault, I wanted him too, but I know why they didn't take him, it's because he's frail and slow and scouts wonder how it will translate.

You are so mad you fail to answer my questions. My argument isn't stupid, Michkov had 0 points in 3 games in SKA, how many points would have he gotten playing on SKA's 4th line all year? Kucherov played for CSKA in Moscow, he didn't play for Sochi. Tarasenko played for SKA, he didn't play for Sochi. Kaprisov played for CSKA in Moscow, not for Sochi. Mitchkov couldn't make the roster, and instead of soaking the culture, he took the easy road in order to showcase his talent, he asked for a trade to a losing team where he'd play on the top line. Is it so hard to understand? How many points would have he gotten playing on a winning team like all the other players you mentioned did? And how hard is it to understand that you get more points playing on a losing team?

Whatever it takes for this management to not rush a prospect!

And no one has Pitchforks out for Reinbacher, only management!

AHL... Ideally.
The next step for him is to get exposed to the NA game in a league that try to mimic the NHL on a team trying to emulate the Habs.
That said, he still need to get through the dev camp and the main camp before that decision start to make sense.

He can work on his offensive game in the swiss league for a year, it wouldn’t hurt. Do you think he can do that in the AHL? Or the fact that he has to adapt there first will kinda prevent him to do that and try new things?

Wasn't a problem for Nemec/Jiricek/Seider so I don't think it would be for David. I like the fact that the management and Nicholas could work with him easily in Laval.

At the same time, Swiss league is probably the league in Europe that play a style closer to the NHL with many ex NHLer

I don't like that you guys got Reinbacher. This means he's an awesome player. ;) You' guys will be happy about this pick in 1-2 years. Good pick, congrats!
people on these boards don't get how strong Swiss
league is. Reinbacher may be better than Josi.
But mostly, this is about, people thinking the
situation in Russia is stable. I think that is too
optimistic. And please, no idiot respond by saying
what happened in the past. This is a different Russia.

If michkov was in North America tonite, he would
be the best choice. But pretending that reality does
not exist. I'm not sure that's the best approach.

Cool down my friend, I know you're still mad because they didn't pick your guy,

stop pretending you know what I think or feel. You're absolutely clueless, that's what's maddening.

but it's not my fault, I wanted him too, but I know why they didn't take him, it's because he's frail and slow and scouts wonder how it will translate.

Moving the goalposts. You presented two arguments. The 8 points in 2 games and the Zadina comparison. Now that they both been shot down, it's something else.

Michkov was at the Flyers facilities. He's higher than 5'10 and bigger than 180 according to their scout.

You are so mad you fail to answer my questions. My argument isn't stupid, Michkov had 0 points in 3 games in SKA, how many points would have he gotten playing on SKA's 4th line all year?

it's a 3 game sample. Beginning of the season. Oh he had a three game drought with Ska. Again ignorance. You wouldn't use that argument if you knew that the season before, at 17, he had 5 points in 13 games with SKA. But I guess those 3 games are much much more defining?

You should really quit this debate, because you've simply not researched this, just repeating all the copium you've picked up.

Kucherov played for CSKA in Moscow, he didn't play for Sochi. Tarasenko played for SKA, he didn't play for Sochi. Kaprisov played for CSKA in Moscow, not for Sochi. Mitchkov couldn't make the roster and instead of

stop stop. Mivhkov played with Ska, a year younger than the players you named.

and again even if he played for Sochi HE STILL FACED KHL OPPOSITION AND WAS SURROUNDED BY SCRUBS.

soaking the culture took the easy road to showcase his talent and asked for a trade to a losing team where he'd play on the top line.

WTF now you're inventing stuff. Holy crap. He didn't ask for a trade. SKA didn't have any room. He was loaned.
Is it so hard to understand? How many points would have he gotten playing on a winning team like all the other players you mentioned did? And how hard is it to understand that you get more points playing on a losing team?

He had 5 in 13 at 17 years old, with SKA, the year before, a year younger than all those names. How hard is that to understand?

Because the only thing they can do for now is to compare him to steady eddie.
There is definitely elements in this fanbase waiting in the wing to dunk the kid at every opportunity they will get, I've seen that movie before.

Yes in term of play style and structure. Still lack the overall physicality and aggressiveness you would find in your average NA league, also fall short to replicate the "82 games per season grind" and traveling across a continent to play hockey thing.

But he really want to finish school before coming over, then so be it.
