Craig is right on the money with his take on the Reinman. If Hutson can keep doing his thing for the next couple of years, those two would be a great pairing. The backend will look great if things continue to progress as it currently is.

Guhle - Mailloux
Hutson - Reinbacher
Xhekay - Barron
As good as that looks on paper, you gotta think they are gonna mix in some vets, Matheson ain’t going anywhere and Kovasevic looked solid, gonna have to deal a couple of those guys I think.

We need equilibrium, like Vegas had equilibrium, good Defense and offense.
Good, now unto another couple of tank years to fill that offense because we sure as hell don't have a good offense.

One thing I'm going to give the guy is his huge schnoze. I have one too so he reminds me of my goofy ass. So I will give him a break.

He'll be fine, and really good, of that I have no doubt

It's just not the WOW I/we we were expecting tho I feel lol

But this morning for me there's definitely this sense of "well, at least our D is looking GREAT for the foreseeable future"
And honestly, that's a good feeling to have over all

Still got all summer to round out some things

Obviously, if you go through my post history, I dislike this pick. I wanted a forward. But just because I fundamentally disagree with my team's draft strategy this year doesn't mean I dislike anyone personally or want the kid to fail so I can be right online.

Doing a little reading this morning though, DR seems like a very nice kid. And it's always going to be easy to root for someone like that. He's also a Hab now, so I'm going to throw all my weight of fandom behind him to succeed. We are going to need someone of his (ceiling's) caliber if we want to take the next step as a team.

By the time Reinbacher and Hutson arrive - 2024 for Hutson and 2025 for Reinbacher - Guhle will be 3/4th year, Xhekaj 3/4th year, Barron 2nd/3rd year. Mailloux probably in the A this year so he will be arriving with Hutson.

A young D core no doubt. But all with top 4 upside.

By 2025, I expect this to be our 6 regulars. Guhle and Xhekaj will be in their 4th year. Barron in his 3rd, Mailloux and Hutson in their Sophomore campaigns and Reinbacher better be challenging for rookie of the year.

Do we actually think he's 6'2? Guhle's 6'2 and Reinbacher looks bigger then him

Reibacher is wearing the cap. So that makes him seem taller. And Guhle looks a little slanted as he's reaching around to to put his arm around David. You look at their eye level, they're about the same.

- Courtesy of body expert Adam Michaels. :sarcasm:

It's an old pro wrestling trick, the announcer bends his knees a little to make the main eventer look taller ;)

Dont know if this was posted, interview (in french) with a teammate

I tired the translator, seems to work

That’s an admission they drafted to fill a need, right there. Hughes kept saying he’d draft BPA, but les bottines ont pas suivi les babines.
According to this they did take the BPA.

From The Athletic:
Montreal native and hockey data expert Thibaud Chatel works extensively with teams in Switzerland tracking data and providing detailed analytics to his clients and subscribers. His service, NL Ice Data, tracked 22 of Reinbacher’s games with Kloten, and came to the following conclusion.
“To get deeper, we also have a prospects model, which looks at every player from 16 to 22 and projects their potential career (until) they reach 30 years old. On this one, Reinbacher was simply the second-best player in the draft behind (Connor) Bedard, with a 52 percent chance of being an ‘Elite’ (top 10 percent) player in the league on average during the next decade.”

We were never picking Michkov unless someone at the top really wanted him. None of our scouts saw him live and we literally have no Russian regional scout. So it would be the expectation that none of them would bother to bat for Michkov. Picking Michkov would have required the GM/President/Owner to overwrite the decision over the scouting team.
