LOL
we can't start getting mad at random nowhere European teams in Switzerland just because it delays Reinbachers 'flight to NA' for a bit lol

It's remarkable we're following this at all lol

I wonder if the people monitoring the viewership are like hmmm, I don't know why exactly... but we've got a giant spike in the ratings all coming from this location in Canada.. weird.. but woo-hoo!
I came by for this thread lol I want Hutson and Reinbacher to play together again before the end pf the nhl/ahl season for no good reason but it has to happen.

I appreciate the love and positive thinking but Paul Coffey was god on skates. One of the best skaters I’ve seen. Ridiculous ability really… and never seen the inside of his own zone either

Well lets be honest,

Of course, Reinbacher has nothing to do in a Paul Coffey discussion, but it was a proper reponse to a poster who ask if he is our next Olli Juolevi. Someone who closely follow Canucks prospects should note that it may be worth waiting a bit before panicking after a concerning D+1, especially when there is an extreme context surrounding it. I won’t be worried about Reinbacher until I see him flop under our development team in NA, strange year for him but at least he’s healthy, hope he can come over put together a few good games and build some confidence going into summer

The whole points talk is useless. People were ready to trade Struble for nothing before the start of this year bc of his production in the NCAA. Go look at at Brock Faber's numbers in the NCAA, he's outproducing his best season there as a rookie in the NHL. Faber easily goes top 3 in a redraft. Reinbacher's got all the tools to be a top pair D. At 6'3 220 in his prime he's gonna be a force. His play has improved markedly over the course of the year. One thing to consider as well is his game is going to translate much better on the smaller ice. He and Hutson are gonna be a treat to watch next year in Laval.

@Adam Michaels is Reinbacher coming tomorrow?

Nope. Just got off the phone with him. :sarcasm:

Olten won today and took a 3-2 series lead. If they win on Tuesday, then it will be official, Reinbacher will stay to play the relegation series against Ajoie set to start on March 16th (Best-of-7).

If Olten loses on Tuesday, then they will play a Game 7 (I believe it's on the 15th).

So best case scenario, Reinbacher's arrival is pushed back a week. However, strong possibility he will be delayed longer.

Unacceptable... You get back on that phone and make sure they wrap this thing up toot sweet... Chop Chop!

I loved the pick and advocated for it a few months before the draft quite avidly.

I haven't been over the moon with his D+1 year but there's plenty to like. It's beyond my limited hockey knowledge to parse out his individual play from being on a garbage team.

Throughout the year though you'd see him break up plays so beautifully and effortlessly as a 19 year old kid in a pro league that you can't help but be excited by that aspect of his game.

This year he gets a mulligan from me. Next year is crucial. He has to look drastically improved.

Kloten being as bad as the were is very hard to gage his play. Can't judge his point collection since Kloten would have struggle to score without a goalie on the other side. I didn't get to watch him play, but I agree on the mulligan. As long as he can adapt somewhat quickly to NA hockey. Took about a year (with injury) to Slaf to adapt.

Hope he does better than Norlinder.. Norlinder got high praise on here also.

Norlinder wasn't a 1st rounder or a top 5 pick, he was over rated by many hab fans then it was blown out of portion as usual. Some even said he would be a norris trophy winner lol

He was also overrated by many over in Europe who actually saw him play regularly. That's where the hype was coming from.

Faber is also in an ideal situation for his particular talents.
Hockey is was and always will be a team sport which is why comparing individuals stats can become cloudy.
We run into this constantly when people try to compare some of our young players stats with older more accomplished vets.

Jesus can he get over here already.

Should have stayed here after trainning camp
Yeah I remember this debate before and during camp. I still believe sending him back to Europe was the right choice given what we knew.
Hindsight will have us all wishing we had Reinbacher in Laval over the likes of Gallipeau.

Don't worry about his play this year I heard he has done great work at his internship and has made strides in his academics

That’s what I had proposed….but still, little setbacks and not meeting certain expectations can also serve as apprenticeship….this “down” year will
Do him well and he will be better for it moving forward.

Now get his ass to Laval so he can play some hard minutes and help lead this team into the playoffs!

I still see no reason for Reinbacher to hang around for a relegation round.
If Kloten can't qualify without him maybe they deserve to be relegated.
Looking at their recent history they are never that far from the SW to begin with.

Like is relegation hockey good for development or something. :dunno:
Purely selfish I know but is it wrong from an asset management point of view.

I would imagine that they talked this through with Reinbacher and his agent, would imagine he feels a personal sense of ownership to the team and the club to play if they need him. He's a really good, team first kid so I could expect it something like that.

I also think the Habs brass would view the elimination series as a good developmental experience for him.

I have no problem with him finishing the year there playing in a relegation round but he should be in the AHL next year. He's losing his time playing for the Coyotes of the swiss national league.

He will be over the minute his season ends with Kloten.

He already adapted. See my profil pic.

I think the plan was always to bring him over next season.
What would it have taken to not bring him over?

I'd hate to think that it wasn't.
On the flip side it's now up to Laval to make sure there is some meaningful Hockey for him to come over and play.
