Gonna go out on a limb and guess Michkov gave the impression he wasn't really interested in playing for Montreal.

FWIW Arizona had Reinbacher in their sites to replace Jakob Chychrun. Time will tell but in a few years Guhle/Reinbacher/Huston could be the top 3 here.

Presumably that means trading for a guy like Hart/Askarov or going for a UFA in a year or two or three, because goalies take forever, if they draft someone you won't see him winning games in Montreal for 4-5 years.
Yeah they will most probably trade for a goalie, in any scenario at this point.

Doesn't sounds like this guy has a mean bone in his body. You'd think a guy like this would at least have a mean streak.

Those concerned about offensive potential, usually a great indicator for young defenders is puck transition and he’s already elite at that. If he can carry the puck out of his zone and through the neutral zone on his own, and beat the first defender with his feet, it shows nice upside.

Maybe the experts know better. But I also fear they may be high on their own supply, so to speak. Trust their 'method' a little too much when the obvious truth is in front of their nose.

It's still hard to ignore that this organization under Molson, with a 3OA, 3OA, 1OA and 5OA picks, got Galchenyuk, Kotkaniemi, Slafkovsky and Reinbacher.

I still believe in Slaf and hopefully Reinbacher will be a good one, but for example the Blackhawks with a 1OA and 3OA completely jumpstarted their franchise with Kane and Toews in the 2000s.

Where are the results for us? If this new batch doesn't deliver, then what? I understand I'm mixing up different eras but it was all under Molson ultimately, and since we can suspect he had a hand in us not taking Michkov.

It’s very different.

Trading one of them will never bring you a generational talent.

With the kids getting better (and healthier) they won’t have access to talent like Michkov in futur drafts.

Price was identified as a potential franchise player. Is Reinbacher a potential franchise player?

Michkov isn't the only one who would come in and have an impact. There are other players that can come in and help the team win.

If Michkov comes to the league and has 90-100 point seasons, but his team doesn't go far when it matters, but Reinbacher is having 30-40 point seasons but he helps the Canadiens go deep into the playoffs and be contenders, does it really matter if they missed out on Michkov?

The guy had almost three times as many as Roman Josi in his draft year and had the third most points on the Austrian Junior team, but he has no offense, according to posters here.
He had more than double the penalty minutes compared to Josi, in his draft year, but isn't physical.
If he is 90% the player Josi is, I think everyone will be happy.
