Reinbacher will 100% play better with Laval than Kloten. His style of play is perfect for smaller ice. In pre-season game with Habs, he play solid hockey and make great pass aswell.

That will be perfect to his development if he can play for Laval soon than later.
Kloten is a disaster. He's a quality player and it will be more evident when playing with superior players. Same can be said for most good players, they shine when in the appropriate environment .

Not looking forward to the meltdown if he does come over because he’ll be playing on smaller ice for the first time, in a new continent, and joining an established team mid-season. He’ll likely struggle out of the gate and people will be here calling him a bust.
Those people don't matter in the grand scheme of things

Kloten just acquired a RD, when they have 8 healthy D. Rumours on X that the Habs are bringing him home now.

Teams are usually playing 8 defensemen in Europe. Sometimes 7 to dress a 13th forward but 8/12 is the more common model. Kloten added Sidler because they need him. I think it's highly unlikely Reinbacher leaves Switzerland now. Season will be over soon anyway. Might as well stay for a couple of months before moving over to NA.

I assume he plays in tomorrow's game but bringing to Laval would be fun to see since they are really looking much better and at some point they could lose Xhekaj so having Reinbacher there would help keep it interesting. His team has 16 games left so after Saturday they will have 14 left. They are 5 pts out of 12th OA which would mean no regulation round games, but the team has a game in hand. 3 pts for a win though so if they managed to win a couple then they might have a shot but they just give up too many goals.

The Lakers have looked good lately though so the 11th placed Tigers might be easier to catch. I think the Tigers are a better team than the Lakers but they lost 8 straight and will visit Kloten tonight. If Kloten wins this game in regulation, they'll be just 5 points behind the Tigers with another meeting of the two teams still scheduled. However, Kloten's honeymoon after firing Fleming is over and they're on a six game losing streak themselves. If they lose tonight then catching up could become an uphill climb.

Reinbacher is indeed very much in the lineup. If they make the playoffs then Reinbacher is gonna play for Laval this season but I don't think he's gonna leave Kloten early. I don't think there's anything to these rumors.

Game to start in 30mins and it's actually live streamed for free on the internet. Well, in today's world, pretty much every pro hockey game is but this is an official and legal stream. From my experience there's also no geo blocking. If anybody wants the link, let me know.

Playing his D+1 season on a good Kloten team was definitely my preference, but they're doing so bad that I can see the logic in getting Reinbacher in a better environment. They can always make room for him in Laval. Doing it mid season like that kinda sucks though, it's not ideal development wise.
I agree it isn’t ideal but compared to staying in a shitty losing environment is probably worse. May as well bring around the organization at that point

Well, just curious.... I understand the obvious reasons behind not publicizing an illegal feed, but why is it frowned upon if it's legal and official? Not criticizing mods here, just honestly wondering :)

I don’t see a #2 D that doesn’t run the PP as a “massive upside”.

He can be a huge contributor on multiple sides of the game but that still isn’t massive upside.

Btw, he is a safe pick because of his floor (which is a serviceable NHL D) but for some reason you don’t like it when people say that. It’s one of his positives.

A top pair RD who plays 20+min/night against top line opposition, even if he don't run a PP, is massive upside. A rarely available type of assets.

Its semantic at this point tho.

I think the main argument against him is he doesn’t have that kind of potential and he’s more of a top 4 guy. Either way, good top 4 RHD don’t grow on trees. And as much as people like to poke fun at guys like Petry, having a right handed shot that can move onto the top pair seamlessly for long stretches of time if you need him too is very valuable.

I don't get the argument that if a guy doesn't run a PP he is suddenly not top 5 material. Again, go look at the Ryan Mcdonagh draft and show me who would you have picked before him now?

If you want to use the argument that it was a weak draft, include the 2006 draft and tell me who would you pick ahead of him. Heck go to 2008 too, which is loaded with D and I would rather have Mcdonagh in his prime than Karlsson, Carlson, Tyler Myers etc.. Heck even if you put all 3 drafts together he still goes top 5-7 behind Kane, Giroux, Doughty, Stamkos ..

That's Reinbacher's comparable. Some people are short sighted.

We'll see. I was watching Arpon Basu and MAGs podcast yesterday, they said numerous teams were trying to trade for the Habs pick to draft Reinbacher last year. People were comparing him to Noah Dobson last year before Dobson broke out this year. This kid is viewed as a big time asset around the league.

Absolutely, highly debatable.

I believe he is as good as the RD we terribly should have drafted in 2022. Dont think we would have went for a top-4D with a top 5 pick. At this spot in the draft, you aim for top of the line-up player.
