They can recall him at any point as per the agreement NHL has with the European leagues.

Literally its up to the Habs. With the situation in Laval and the position the team is in now, adding Reinbacher would be a MAJOR add for them and great for Reinbacher.
Wasn't the whole point of him staying there was to finish his school and internship , is he finished with that?
This is the reason I asked the question. If he’s in school, it seems a little strange to pull him out of that in January. That said, maybe he’s alright with leaving because of what’s happening with his team right now?

Orville said at camp last September, if needed he could finish his final year of school on-line

right , I was just under the impression that that was one of the main factors for not having him over right away and the org was just doing him a solid

Since listening to him last summer after being drafted
My impression has ALWAYS been we were kind of doing him a 'solid' and I agree with that completely
Deep down they also thought 'and it's still development over there anyway, so we can spare it this year'
But with how it's gone over there AND having the control? Time to pull the plug on kloten

Easy fix, just get him out of there, he's had months since being actually drafted to an NHL team to contemplate 'hmm OK, I'm back home.. school, fine... my cute job, yeah yeah... holy shit my team sucks bad this year....*looks out the window* but playing NA pro hockey and getting closer to my actual dream huh.. hmmm'

I think taking his interests into account will be big for maintaining a solid relationship with him. If this is a long term piece for the team I hope that this is a conversation and not just a demand. You'd hope it's an easy decision for him but you never really know.

Hockey-wise, this should be a big win for Montreal. Laval will be a significantly better team to develop with and there's a definite need for RD with the club. Would be a lot of fun to see what he can do at that level.

Not looking forward to the meltdown if he does come over because he’ll be playing on smaller ice for the first time, in a new continent, and joining an established team mid-season. He’ll likely struggle out of the gate and people will be here calling him a bust.

Regarding school, someone should show him how Bergevin dropped out of school, played a little under 1200 NHL games and has been an executive in Hopey Ops since retiring.

School is overrated. :sarcasm:
especially spelling A Micheals, lol

Are you serious with this take, Bergy had the GM IQ of a house plant.

so there’s that

I thought Reinbacher showed very well in training camp and preseason. I wasn't necessarily big on him after we picked him at the draft, but I was pleasantly surprised with how mature his game seemed already. I think he's gonna be a good one, but patience will be needed, as is usual, for any young dman developing to play in the NHL.
