No, rolling 4 lines is what AV did. Quinn was brought in to coach children. And what would Quennville do? And why would he even want to come here?I am still confused about this coach, wasn't he brought in to roll all 4 lines? Because essentially he just plays 3 lines. We should have thrown millions at Joel Quenneville when he became available.
This isn’t any different than how these players are treated as 18 year old rookiesHe's losing me a bit with this whole earn it stuff. You drafted a stud 2OV, use him. What is Kakko not doing they he doesn't deserve to at least play on the 1st unit/PP?
The third member is Lias Andersson; that's where it draws a bit of ire.
Speaking of AV and rolling 4 lines Sean Couturier has played under 20 minutes 4 times in 5 games this year. He did that a total of 11 times last season. No, rolling 4 lines is what AV did. Quinn was brought in to coach children. And what would Quennville do? And why would he even want to come here?
That top line’s numbers are going to take a hit and the talk around them is going to sound a lot like all of the talks about Nash around hereSpeaking of AV and rolling 4 lines Sean Couturier has played under 20 minutes 4 times in 5 games this year. He did that a total of 11 times last season.
100% agree. Smith was terrific, he got rewarded. Sounds good. Kakko was good too. Very noticeable. Actually I thought Kreider was pretty good. He was fighting through bodies a bit. Anyhow it was a pretty bad game. Is Fox ok? I know he can't back but was there any word on what happened? Was he woozy or did he like, hurt his neck or something?Smith was easily one of our better forwards tobight tho.
I disagree with Quinn's assessment of the team..I felt like we looked pretty flat.
Kakko looked great tho
Fire Renney! This thread being back is way too predictable.
Forget Renney, fire Francis.Fire Renney!
Wait, seriously? We are talking about Quenneville? And this is not a joke?I am still confused about this coach, wasn't he brought in to roll all 4 lines? Because essentially he just plays 3 lines. We should have thrown millions at Joel Quenneville when he became available.

1) WHY would Quenneville come to a rebuilding team? And why would have come to a team prior to the coming of Panarin and Trouba?
2) Since when is Quennevill considered a developmental coach?
3) What exactly has Quinn done wrong? Quibble about a few things, but this is the youngest team in the league. Despite the acquisitions of big name players, this is still a developmental team. You are still looking at a lottery team. What coach is going to do better?
You have a defense with two rookies, a Staal on his last legs, DeAngelo who is still learning to play defense and Skjei who looks to be over matched as a top line defender. What are you expecting?
I think the issues people have are Kakko on the second line, and Chytle not playing in the NHL yet. We're still in October though and the Rangers have had a very touch and go schedule. And already, there have been flashes of brilliance on the PP and 1st line. And Rangers had a really excellent first period last night before they lost the pace of their game.Wait, seriously? We are talking about Quenneville? And this is not a joke?

Wait. Can you please stop being sensible so that we can continue to let mass hysteria run wild?Maybe we should wait until they, oh I don't know, play more games before assessing the coaching this year? They're playing a bunch of games this week. I'm sure the production will pick up in a more regular schedule.
The defesive issues are going to continue, but that's what happens with such a young group of players.
let's just talk about last year. ZBad showed pretty good progress, no? DeAngelo played the best hockey of his career. Kevin Hayes was playing at the level of an elite 2nd line center. Buchnevich finally took steps forward and had his best season. Strome had his best season in years. Nametsnikov played very well. That is just off the top of my head.Has anyone progressed with David Quinn at the helm? We have one of the worst compete levels in hockey so far. It’s just four games, so I’m going to relax. Time to promote Lias.
So last year Quinn got a crappy team to play hard every night and overachieve but after 4 games this season he needs to go?
No he's fine now, we're tanking. When the Rangers are ready to compete for real he can go and we'll get a real NHL level coach. So last year Quinn got a crappy team to play hard every night and overachieve but after 4 games this season he needs to go?
I'm not an advocate of Quinn getting fired but we've seen this team for nearly fifteen years 'overachieve' and it's always credited to the coach and not the spectacular goaltending which has been the actual constant.
Last year Henrik won us just about every point we managed to get in 2018. Then, Georgiev had his stellar second half and won us the remainder.
Team had the fewest ROW in the league last year.

Yeah but the team was also bereft of talent outside of maybe 5 forwards and two defenseman. And while I agree that they've gotten insane goaltending over their last run, it wasn't solely about goaltending, especially during AVs tenure.
