ok fun (?) game while we're bored with no games to play.

What is the LEAST you'd trade Pasta for in a Hindenburg situation where we had to? let's say in a sign/trade scenario

Think like getting a mulligan on the Seguin trade and doing better.

I'd do 2023 1st and 2nd, 2024 1st, team's best centre prospect under the age of 23, some 20g roster player they have to send back to make $ work (but under 5M in salary). lol we'd probably never get that is the sad part.

Because Pastrnak continues his scorched earth policy with no signs of slowing down, and crunch time approaches.

getting to play with David Krejci in a contract year was great for him

There is no way they will get value, this would make the Thornton trade look good

Not fun.

Pasta will sign with the Bs. Any other thought is NOT acceptable.

I'd like to believe there is zero chance DS trades Pasta in a year in which Bergy and Krejci have come back at well below market value to give things one more shot. This is an all-in year for the Bs. The players would riot harder than the fans if Pasta got traded at the deadline of a somewhat historic season.

Sure would put DS in a difficult situation if the deadline passes without a signing and Pasta decides to play hardball. Give him what he wants or watch him walk for nothing.

As for the original question, let's say DS goes insane and does trade Pasta at the deadline, I don't think he gets as much in return as some people might think. Pasta has a modified NTC this season. Nobody is going to give up the farm for Pasta unless they can be assured he will re-sign with them, and pretty much all the good teams are in a cap crunch this season. The bad teams would likely be listed by Pasta as places he won't go. The Pasta camp has a lot of power.

The least I'd take for a sign and trade of Pasta? 1st overall this year (Bedard)

Horvat signed for 8.5 for 8 years. Is Pasta not a comparable to him? The money for Pasta should now be going down.

Not comparable. Horvat is a year older and has .67 career ppg to Pasta's 1.02ppg. One good half-season does not make a career. Pasta does it year in and year out and always at a higher level including this year. Pasta is worth 25% more than Horvat at a minimum.

WTF is this? Horvat is a comparable for DeBrusk not Pastrnak. Most seasons, Horvat barely scores as many points as Pastrnak does goals.

career 0.68 PPG, career per 82 average of 26-29-55 vs Pastrnak's 1.03 career PPG and career per 82 of 41-43-84

Even Horvat's over the top outlier season this year is a fraction of Pastrnak...38-34-72 vs 31-23-54. Hell, Horvat's PPG this year, his by far best, is basically equal to Pastrnak's career PPG (1.03 vs 1.08).

And Horvat is 1 year older
