On pace for 60 goal season. Shooting pct only 3rd best of his career so far. On pace for 110 pts while playing mainly on 2nd line. Also on pace for most hits of his career. Downside is he is on pace to shatter his most giveaways in a season.

This is a monster season so far but it doesn't even seem like he has caught total fire yet. Elite. He deserves to get paid as such.

Now on pace for 60 goals this season, David Pastrnak’s 269 career goals are the most in any Bruin’s first 549 games …

How critical are STH renewals this season in particular? Bergy and Krecji possibly retiring. This Pasta signing is critical to renewals, imo

Give him his 12 million Don
If someone suggested giving him 12M last season I would have been perfectly content in saying let him walk or trade him. Seeing what he's doing this season combined with the reported rise in the cap over the coming years, I say it would be an abject failure of management if they don't re-sign him, and if it takes 12M then great.

He's a legit superstar at this point. Not many teams have an actual elite goal-scoring superstar. The pct of cap hit at around 12M will not seem like that much halfway through his contract compared to what others will be receiving. The rises in the cap over the coming years will be significant, making contracts of elite players balloon.

And it should be mentioned, Pasta keeps getting better.

If I'm Pasta I don't sign during the season. Not unless I'm already being offered max everything. And even then I might not sign till the offseason anyway.

The fact that so many were trashing him and complaining about his terrible year last year, a year where he scored 40 goals in 72 games, says it all about his greatness

Show.him.the.money.Donny.

Not only is he an elite NHLer, he's become the face of the franchise. The NESN promos, the Dunkin' commercials etc. Pasta's an incredibly charismatic person as well as a great athlete plus he seems like a genuinely nice guy too.

Nope, but he's about to - he's on his annual post-holiday "I remember how to shoot the puck and hit the net" streak. Hopefully it lasts for another 7 months!

Especially with younger fans and casual NHL fans outside of Boston. The guy simply exudes fun when looking and listening to him. Impossible not to love Pasta. Marketing dream. He is the face of the franchise and Bergy is the voice of the franchise. Not a bad combo, eh?

well...you are NOT Pasta:dunno:

I really believe the Bs will and intend to sign Pasta. I just wish they would get it done ASAP

But Ladyfan it stands to reason that he'd have already accepted a heck of a lot of possible offers that are way up there. Him being unsigned here is almost certainly his camp letting that hang out there. Pasta has every incentive to see what the team looks like after these playoffs.

If the clock passes the trade deadline, he's not going to sign between that and the playoffs. He'll do it in the offseason. Not long till the trade deadline now!

I still think he signs. But in the offseason.

Anaheim has money. Most in the league when it comes to cap once Klingberg is traded. Could we possibly see a sign and trade with Anaheims seconds this 23’.

He makes so much sense from a Anaheim perspective.

Bedard - McTavish - Pastrnak

Right shot Bedard and right shot Pastrnak. I can’t wait for the deadline. Anaheim has money and we’re gonna spend it with this draft year.

Thank you for reading! Appreciate it

There is no package Anaheim can offer up that is appealing for Pastrnak...short of winning the draft lottery and offering up #1 overall (Bedard)

Pasta wants to win. No reason to go to the Ducks.

ZERO reason to trade him either.

Okay. Just thought I would ask. Anaheim has money. Maybe we will win the bidding war while Boston is against the cap. I was just trying to figure out how Boston fans feel about Pastrnak coming to Anaheim. As our cap is the lowest after Klingberg.

Appreciate the insight ❤️

Pasta now leads all Bruins forwards with a +20.

Not since Cam Neely's peak years has a Bruins scorer been this hot. Amazing thing is it doesn't matter if he's on the Perfection line or the Czech line.

Also getting more ice time than ever before.

Hey if you're gonna cost 11-12m, you're gonna play some MINUTES.

I say go for it there.
