Four top 6 forwards, 2 top 4 defensemen and no goalies is not a very talented team, no matter how hard you try to lie about it.
Even if a couple of those forwards and one defenseman is considered top 20 material.

Okey, so Flyers roster is mediocre. Thats largely due to poor depth, 3rd and 4th lines are not good enough. 2nd and 3rd pairings are bad.
Top talent in this team is good and top 6 and top 2 D are easily top 10 in the league.

So, why does the coach maximize the weaknesses of the team by benching it's 3rd best D man for half the season. Plays teams (leagues) worse forwards in key moments of the game? Is that good coaching?

The minutes for the top players were maxed out, compare to other players around the league.
So it was just a question of which scrub played.

Sanheim was the 3rd most talented defenseman on the team last season, hopefully this year he'll be the third best defenseman on this team.

And the goalies are below average, which is a major detriment to team success - with mediocre goalies you need the rest of the team to be top ten or better in terms of talent. Because you have to outscore a lot of bad goals.

This year they could have 6 legitimate top 6 forwards, 8 if Simmonds bounces back and Lindblom can convert more of his scoring chances, 3 top 4 defensemen if Sanheim takes a step up, 4 if Gudas rediscovers his mojo (Myers probably needs another season before pushing for top 4 status). They still need a 3C to really fill out the lineup.

Talentwise if things work out they can break into the top eight in terms of skater talent. But unless Lyon can replicate his playoff performance, Neuvirth stays healthy or Hart steps up. they're likely to be in the bottom 11 in terms of goalie play. So overall I expect them to be around 10-12th this year in terms of overall talent.

I expected 95 points last year with average goaltending, I expect 100 points this year with bottom ten goaltending, 105 if goaltending improves to league average or above.
11 teams had 100+ points last year, 2 more with 98.

Actually, you rarely add anything to the conversation and its mostly posts just above basically saying GhostBeer is "imagining" his views on Sanheim and his post on Ghost isn't valid because of that. Imo your attitude is one of the reasons this board has deteriorated into a rant rather than a discussion.
