Just getting caught up on this thread.

So when does "The Madrigal" show up for his 2 cents worth?

Next May. Stock up on bug spray.

Actually, that's a pile of crap.

The real problem is there is a "homer" hive mind here that overrates the players they like, hates the HC, tries to pretend the GM didn't choose and keep the HC, and basically live in fantasy land. I don't love the coach, but facts are facts, the coach got 96 and 98 points out of a rebuilding team and took them to the playoffs 2 of 3 seasons. You can do the WH spin, and present "alternative facts" and pretend that "truth isn't truth" but you're not fooling me.

Ghost Beer tries too hard, I don't argue, I just present facts (the facts aren't disputed, only the implications, yes, Ghost and Giroux haven't produced in the playoffs, but it's the coach's/other players'/God's fault). I've learned not to wrestle with the pig.

People don't like the facts I present, tough. I'm not here to coddle your "homer" delusions, I'm here for fun and discussion.
And when 12 year olds insult me, well, I just hope Mommy puts them to bed at a decent hour. :sarcasm:
Hive mind is your opinion not fact.

Filppula did get the puck away from two defenders, but Striiker can't give him credit even when the video demonstrates he's making stuff up.

Giroux was a monster playoff performer from 2009-12 at the age of 22-24. But that was a LONG time ago.

If we skip 2015-16, we have two playoff series in the last five years 2013-14, 2017-18:
He was certainly not a monster in either series. He was solid, but nothing special.
In those 13 games he stood out once. 3 points in game 6 against the Rangers at home, which the Flyers won. 13g 3-6 9 -8

So it's been 7 years since he was a top playoff performer. And that's a FACT.

The Flyers are not going to the Cup on Giroux's shoulders, it will be players like Provorov, Patrick, TK and Hart who will carry this team, or not.

Voracek in his last 20 playoff games 3-5 8 -5, Simmonds 20g 4-5 9 -3, Ghost 12g 2-1 3 -8
I don’t understand what your saying. Why are we skipping a year. Does it not fit. Giroux was a playoff monster when we had more than his line. I expect he will bounce back when the team is deeper like it was than. Since we became a one line team. To beat the flyers you shut down giroux. Plan and simple.

As much as you intentionally go against the hive mind you made up. You like to down play the stars of the team. Always have always will that why people get annoyed. To constant crap on g Jake and ghost. Apperantly coots is no longer one of them.

They played great last year. The playoff were a shit show for the flyers for the player and the coach.

I challenge anyone to watch this video and honestly say Filppula slid the puck to Voracek. Unless Filppula is #8 on the Pens, that's a flat out lie.

How about you @Ghosts Beer ?

He looses the puck in front of the net then bats to the boards fights with a defender. Number send it back through the mess a Jake gets it to g. Flip might get credit for tying up a stick???

Giroux will be 31 next year, last time he was a playoff monster he was 24.
"Playoff monster" means top gun matched up against other teams' top guns. Not complementary piece.

Giroux may produce in a secondary role as other players step up and teams no longer target him, but by definition, that means he's not carrying the team.
It's simply wishful thinking to hope that Giroux in his early 30s will be the same impact player he was in his early 20s.
Doesn't mean he can't be a valuable member of a Cup contender, but like I've said, we're not going anywhere until players like Provorov, Couts, Patrick, TK and Hart step up and lead this team.
When that happens, Giroux, Voracek, JVR, will provide solid depth.

Have you ever thought about how similar you and all the other hippies looked in all the mud at Woodstock, and have you ever asked yourself "Are we the real conformists?"

There was no mud at Watkin's Glen, but too many people, I prefer clubs with a good bar, acoustics and sight lines to the stage, myself.
Been to a couple stadium shows, but tend to avoid that as much as possible.

Didn’t say that don’t put words in my mouth. I said when the team was deeper. In 2010 he wasn’t leading the team. In 2012 again he was leading the team. But we got bounced n the second round.

I do expect him to bounce back similar to this year. But never said he will be a monster in his 30s.

That possum is like a poster who steps in after two months away to snap at us, and that raccoon is like me just sitting here trying to get a coach fired.
I’m used to getting screeched at, but you taking some heat was an interesting change of pace.

Do you think they realized that this is your burner account?

Not sure what this video has to do with me.

Are you contending Filppula didn’t make a good play there? I mean, I dislike Filppula, but that was one of his best plays of the year. Voracek fed Giroux, ultimately, for the goal. I get that. But Filppula made a good play there.

Disappointing. I gave you a chance... but nope...

The video was perfectly clear, just like what I was asking for...

I challenge anyone to watch this video and honestly say Filppula slid the puck to Voracek.

Filppula made a nice move to get in front of the net but fumbled the puck away. Then he went behind the net to try to retrieve it, swung backhand at the puck, which knocked it to a Pens defensemen, and that Pens defensemen (#8) then hit it over to Voracek. The claim was that Filppula "slid the puck to Voracek", which is a flat out lie, as proven by the video. For some reason that person refuses to admit the truth (even though they only post the facts?), so I figured you'd like a chance to prove me wrong about you, by being honest, even when it proves your best pal wrong.

So how about it? True or false: Filppula slid the puck to Voracek.
