Darnell Nurse makes almost the same amount that Adam Fox will make next season and that Cale Makar makes this season. That is mind boggling. He is a $6 million dollar defenseman at best. On a good team he is a 2nd pair defenseman.

Nobody is taking on that contract. Last year he played great hockey. That was the anomaly. This season he looks like Nurse of old. I agree, he is a $6mm dman at best. I was originally saying $7-7.5 but that was after he performance last year. That was obviously the outlier.

You don't want a 26 year old defenseman playing 26 minutes a night in a top pairing 2 $9.5 million for 8 years for a goalie just out of rehab, rehabilitating a knee injury who is 34, signed for $10.5 Million for four more years and hasn't played a game yet this season?

Habs are clearly rebuilding. Price, Petry etc... won't want to stick around thos couple years where we'll be aiming at Wright, Bedard Michkov etc...

Nurse on the other end will be on the ice, taking 9.5$ out of our cap space, something Habs could very well use and take on bad contracts and 1st rd picks instead.

Price contract is not an issue, as he'll either be traded with retention for a good value package while the Habs rebuild, or stay on LTIR...

There are lots of
Defencemen that a team can just throw on the ice aimlessly with no structure etc (which is what the Oilers do)

Nurse sucks (let me

Everyone outside of Edmonton takes Hamilton and Werenski 100 times out of 100, before Nurse. I have never been sold on Jones and the other two are expiring quickly and not worth a fraction of their contracts.

I'm the one who proposed Nurse for Price and I agree with you. Nurse is a stud D, who cares if he's paid 1.5M$ too much.

I do understand that people who rather spend that elsewhere though.

Nurse is a much better asset the price, Montreal can put price on ltir though. It would make more sense to add barrie and kassian as dumps to offset the cap of price.
