I guess I won't be getting that Paille jersey now :cry::cry:

I have Paille's T-shirt, hubby has Campbell's, and son has Thornton. We'll probably wear them all for my hubby's birthday dinner next week in honor of the Merlot line- we all loved them here at our house.

I can't believe no more Paille- he was one of my favorites as well. :(

Why are we all sad to see Danny go after we've been bashing him all season?

Because we like our players, and then you watch them play you go oh, boy here we go

It's always weird to watch behind the B's for me because I like all of our guys but I like this team more and want to do whats best for the team moving forward.

And then we had Matt Fraser with decent hands and no feet lol.
Ahhhh

Worst hands of any fast players ever.

Love you Pie, but your hands are worse than Bartkowskis.

Perhaps this could have been a job for Victor Frankenstein to combine the two players together and maybe we get ourselves a real splendid Hockey Frankenstein player that could skate like th wind and shoot with accuracy!!
Grrrr!! more goals!!:)

Happy trails, Dan Paille. I'll always remember him as a Bruin, which is the highest compliment I can pay a hockey player.

Paille will live on in my memory with other unsung heroes of Bruin past who always did their job and picked up their game when shorthanded- a sure sign of a good teammate.

Hope he catches on somewhere else.

Would anyone on this board take Kelly at 3m over Paille at 1.5 for one more year?

Still can't believe Kelly is likely to be on the opening night roster and Paille doesn't even have a team.

Also baffled as to how Greg Campbell got signed before Paille.

Before last year I would prefer Pie, but watching Paille last year I can honestly say I think he is top 3 worst players in the league not in an enforcer role. He was an literal pain to watch play.

If i was looking for a 4th liner who can play the game a little and is a PK machine, Dan Paille would be one of my first calls. its weird that no one has signed him

well, Paille became an atrocity. he was good but drafted too high, then he was good and found a role, then he was mediocre, then last season -- and a bit of the previous one -- he was not good.

now, for the questions about Campbell: you don't have to believe me -- nor Julien -- but he was one of the best Bruins last season. if you can only see flash, you miss his worth, but if you analyze statistics you can see how a strong center that prevents goals and moves the puck forward is a key cog to a defensive team that needs puck progression. "eye test" from the couch all you want, but dissing Campbell, Kevan Miller, Bartkowski really shows what type of fan you are. I'm no Campbell nor Bartkowski fan, but those guys have a lot of real value. if you can only see worth in goals scored by the player, go cheer for Ovechkin.

if you can understand why a guy who prevents goals against and moves through zones for the stars to have offensive faceoffs is important, you wouldn't support his being forced off the team when it was really Paille sinking that line. I always liked Paille. I wanted him back because I like his skillset and style, but he was an anchor. go crunch some numbers with zone starts/finishes and relative plus/minus and try to understand how those factors are important and why a team would need some players with strength in those areas. then try to see if Paille and Campbell should share the blame hoisted upon them. I'm serious; your "sense" of a player is not tied to actual worth and value to a team.

He was terrible! What are you talking about? 70 games, 12 points, +1. What amazing statistics should I be looking at? What numbers should I be crunching? Corsi? Do tell.

And what games were you watching? That whole fourth line was a disaster, and it's not entirely their fault. The coaching staff had some kind of weird thing about not using new players, and that lack of development has created a stagnant farm system. Even Griffith, who was a great candidate to be developed got sent down. No one is even talking about him anymore, but he was a hell of a lot better than Caron ever was.

I did tell. it's not my fault you can't read.

Analyze statistics??? His SAT was -206, worst on the team, more than DOUBLE the next worst (Paille, -101). Worst SATF/60 (shots per 60 minutes) was the worst on the team by far, Bobby Robbins/KoKo/Ferlin who only played 2-7 games were in his league. Simon Gagne had more points/60 than him. Here's the big one... Corsi. He is not only 3rd worst on the team (Seidenberg, McQuaid before him), but his number is one of the worst in the league, especially if you consider the amount of games he played.

If he's a center that shuts down players and prevents goals, he did a ****ing horrible job. I love the guy as a leader and as a person, but he is DONE. He was so much more of a detriment than he was a positive for the entire season. According to advanced statistics he was not one of "the best Bruins" last year as you said, he was one of the worst IN THE LEAGUE.

I'm a bit surprised Paille isn't signed. I'm sure he'll get an invite but a speedy PKer with Stanley Cup experience, who could be nabbed for close to the league minimum by now, should have a job.

You misunderstood.

By "analyze statistics", he meant "make **** up". If you simply make **** up without referencing anything, Greg Campbell could be considered a god damn superstar.
