BUF is by far the best fit. The Jets have to do the nearly impossible task of both adding for now and adding for the future. BUF is probably one of the only trade partners they can accomplish this with. People talking about #4 or Helenius are not seeing the correct value, heck even Mrtka is probably off the table.

Something like UPL+ #20 + Kulich + Strbak for Hellebuyck + BUF 2027 2nd

he plays big and boring and relies on his brain to put him in the right spot, he had his first injury tried to play thru in then came back early to play in the Olympics, jets season fell off the rails then we somehow got in the race and overplayed him trying to get into the playoffs, he will be fine for a few more years

They aren't in "win now mode", but it looks like they have decided to perpetually be in "try to scratch our way into the playoffs" mode

Some GMs just seem to always have the ability to put together better packages than others

Jarmo in today’s pre-draft presser was asked about the goalie situation in Buffalo. He stated they are comfortable where they are with what they have. That in itself tells me some move is coming because he didn’t address the Levi situation and he didn’t go beyond with the follow ups.

Also, they are holding off on announcing re-signings, Benson, but also Malenstyn who was specifically asked about today and he said yes they want him re-signed. I’m wagering these announcements come draft day.

I’d surmise expect some type of goalie move in Buffalo in the next 48 hrs or so.

I would hate that trade but the value is fair with the risk that comes with Kulich.

I still don't understand our interest in Hellebuyck when they were happy with all goalies and will go with the three goalie system again next year. We even have one goalie too many and an upcoming prospect logjam in Rochester. We are goalie hoarders.
30-35 games from Hellebuyck for 8.5 million + the investment in the trade is just terrible asset management.
