Confirmed with Link: Dadonov (50% retained) to Stars in exchange for Gurianov

I keep hearing how Gurianov could replace Anderson but they’re not the same player. Yes, they’re both big and fast but Anderson is physical while Gurianov isn’t. That’s an important distinction even if Anderson doesn’t display it consistently.

Furthermore, Gurianov’s game is more focused on passing in transition vs Anderson’s is about carrying the puck on the rush

So just maybe Gurianov & Anderson are Ying & Yang complementing each other on the same line

Kinda reminds me of Dach with his transition game. Might be good with Suzuki who's not the best in transition.

Yeah, I saw that too in clips, probably the 2nd best at transition/zone entries on the team now.

But he can't keep the puck in the ozone as well as Dach does (because he likes to shoot).
True but i guess it's something he can work on, if he can just find a pass to make 50% of the time instead of a shot in a bad position, it'll help him get in position and receive a pass back for him to get an actual good shot on goal.

But in the video he showed, i don't think it's such a bad angle shot, there was a good rebound to take but no one was close.

That is impressive dedication.

Most of us would have bailed much earlier rather than dig into that toxic ditch as deeply as you have.

I'd rather see the young guys than the washed up old guys. And when Gallagher, Armia, Dadonov, Drouin, and Hoffman were all in the lineup at the same time, there was only so much room for the young guys.

I really have liked RHP - especially what he's done for Anderson. And I've liked Ylonen's speed, and how he's become more comfortable of late. He was a little manic at first, but has started to get comfortable. I would have loved to have see him opposite Pitlick, but with Evans centering them. Evans has been good centering two speedsters. Those lines dominate the ice and puck possession.

And I respect the grind 4th line of Pez-Tierney-Belzile.

Then you got Gurianov with Suzuki. I would much rather see Dvo on the wing with those 2, than Hoffman. But at least Hoffman has been better of late. So looking forward to seeing it. Hopefully the line does well, Hoffman does well, and impresses all the scouts watching enough to get moved.

A lot to watch out for!

I'll be surprised if Gurianov is with the Habs for long. Hope he proves me wrong.
he's the kind of player that can complete well Drouin. I am sure that he will help this last to put one in the net, so i suppose they' ll offer him a multi-years contract to help Drouin scoring his goal

It's also promising to think that MSL is open minded enough to try to find out what kind of player he is and how to use him.

MSL may have finally found how to use Anderson (put him with RHP!) and took a little time to get Dach going (first put him on the wing with Suzuki and CC, let him gain confidence, then let him center his own line). MSL also got CC going right away after taking over from Ducharme.

So there's a track record. I'm excited to see what he can do with Gurianov, and know it may take time.

I commend you for finding silver linings.

Gurianov will be a curiosity for a few shifts (hopefully more) but otherwise, most of the players I enjoyed watching, are all injured. I would really only find satisfaction if Drouin would get traded mid-game or something.

That too - Drouin is playing the hottest duo on the team, RHP and Anderson. Maybe he impresses all the scouts watching!

Drouin's been one of the Habs' better forwards the last little while, putting up 13 pts in his last 17 games. And more than just his production, he's been playing his best hockey in a real long time. And the fact he's doing it at center is something that can work in his favor, knowing he can cover there in a pinch for any team acquiring him.

Playing with RHP and Anderson could definitely help him some more. But I believe that he's been doing everything he can the last month or more to impress scouts while playing mostly with Hoffman and Dadonov/Ylonen.

Perfect reception, nice deke.

See Habs players aren't that bad :)
