Confirmed with Link: Dadonov (50% retained) to Stars in exchange for Gurianov

Dadonov must've really hated playing in Montreal. He showed more effort on his first goal with the Stars than in any game for the Canadiens :laugh:.
He was just awful for the Habs..............just awful.
Anyhow......................................

Good in traffic. I like how he can handle some contact as he uses edge work to cut around guys. Good shot and one timer. I'm surprised that the Stars see Dadonov as a better playoff guy over him. He was very solid in their cup run (19/20) with 17 pts with 9 goals in 27 games. Dadonov has 1 assist in 4 playoff games.

Stars have size in their line-up. They may be overlooking that due to a team strength.

Gurianov's 19/20 playoff numbers (Age 22 Season):
* 17 pts with 9 goals in 27 games
* 13:53 min/game
* 7 PP points
* 15.36 Hits/60
* 1.28 blocks/60
* 3.20 Giveaways/60
* 1.44 Takeaways/60
Might be as simple as they prefer the more rounded game and whom Dadanov will be teamed with,better playmaker. de Boer knows Dadanovs game and it seems trust him more to go on a run.

Dadanov with 8 points in 11 games with Dallas. That's how I thought he would play under Marty this year?? Making him not only tradable but fetching a nice return at deadline.. Drouin I also thought would do better under MSL. He did worse. Even Bryon I thought may make a return and fetch a third rounder

That along with Monahan and Edmunston injuries wrecked our deadline. There was potential it could have been big.

What's old saying....you make plans and God laughs?

Bruhhh Drouin is killing it for a couple of months already... Playing center on top of it...

But who cares about numbers right?

When you form an opinion you just die with it even if it makes no sense... HFBoards mantra

He's getting secondary assists, yes. But if you actually watch the games, he's the same soft guy who never shoots and often turns over the puck.

He's a passing version of Hoffman. One trick ponies that cost the team more than they bring on the ice. They both bring no physicality, and no intensity. Two bad role models for a rebuilding team.

Again, only Suzy and Dach have more primary assists so please stop the secondary assists nonsense.

Did I expect Dadonov at 50% to get anything close to Gurianov? NO

Hoffman from Oct to Mar 3rd:
* 25 pts with 9 goals in 48 games

Dadonov from Oct to Mar 3rd:
* 18 pts with 4 goals in 50 games

Hoffman at next year's deadline should return a 2nd rounder of something around Gurianov's value. I doubt he performs less than what we seen this year.

Ummmmm......more like Buy low, sell low in this case.
Who wouldn't have taken the chance if he had been the Habs GM? It didn't work, but it didn't cost anything either

Does anybody think Gurianov will be a Hab next year?
I do! Let's see if he feels bad about how it went for him, and what a summer can do to him. Hopefully, he can be signed for one year only. A gamble for next TDL a worst

I had no problem with the trade, just pointing out that Hughes was forced to sell low on Dadanov. I really dislike Gurianov's game but it was worth a look due to his talent level.

I honestly hope not.

I don't think he is a fit with his inconsistent effort and low hockey IQ. His size is almost irrelevant as he doesn't use it.

I highly doubt anyone coughs up a second for a one dimensional vet who has very little playoff experience relative to how long he has been in the league. I don't think any team covets this guy as a playoff asset.

Gurianov is what some of our posters and other fanbases think Josh Anderson is. He's Anderson without any of the grit or intangibles. Unless the goal is to sell him at the deadline I don't really want to bring him back. He's not good enough to fill the Marian Gaborik role on a contender of the guy who contributes zero except points.
