Anderson brings grit and physicality. Gurianov has better hands and can use his linemates better in the ozone.Gurianov is what some of our posters and other fanbases think Josh Anderson is. He's Anderson without any of the grit or intangibles. Unless the goal is to sell him at the deadline I don't really want to bring him back. He's not good enough to fill the Marian Gaborik role on a contender of the guy who contributes zero except points.
Gurianov has to be taught certain things, as Anderson did. We'll see if MSL wants to work with him or not. MSL did a lot for Anderson's game.
One thing's for sure, Gurianov needs to play with good linemates to produce. No one should be surprised by the goose eggs playing with Drouin and Armia. The whole team hasn't been scoring lately. It's no surprise Gurianov hasn't been. But, does he take away from his linemates offensively the way Anderson used to? I think that's where his better hands come in. I'd have to see more of him playing with two good linemates, like say Dach and Heineman or Slaf, or even Anderson, or RHP. Not Drouin, Hoffman, Armia, Pitlick, etc... Ylonen is also not a good fit with him.
