Confirmed with Link: Dadonov (50% retained) to Stars in exchange for Gurianov

That's an interesting take because Anderson, RHP and Suzuki are doing well.

I just don't want RHP and Anderson broken up. I would keep them with Suzuki, but I'm fine with having them play with Dvo or Dach to see what Gurianov can do with Suzuki.
We konw what those guys can do. The project here is not to see how they could evolve. It's to see what Gurianov can do if paired with top end player.

Man, its not a huge win or a huge loss for any team.

Dadonov is better than Gurianov.

There were no 3rd pick out there for Dadonov.

Our management team would rather gamble on Gurianov than a 4th pick kower.

Safe, no-risk bet. There is a potential reward but i would not get my hopes too high
Agreed on this take. Its likely the Habs walk away from DG unless he somehow finds his game in Montreal. Either way, he won't be earning 3M next season.

Dadonov was maddeningly soft. Just painful to watch.

It's like what , 1 in a thousand Gurianov can turn it around in Montreal under MSL ? But we paid 0 for the lotto ticket. So great trade.

I don't know Gurianov well enough.

Ylonen seems like a potential bottom sixer. Maybe Gurianov is a bottom sixer, maybe more.

It would be nice if Dach would get healthy to give us another offensive option at C. I have no confidence in Dvorak as an offensive C. Actually Dvo is another player I want to see get a shot with Suzuki to see what type of numbers he can put up offensively. But that won't happen anytime soon with all the injuries we have at C.

Intrigued by the trade, especially when you consider what we traded to get Dadonov originally, Weber's contract. The Denis Gurianov of 2019-20 had massive promise, with 20 goals in 64 games of his first near-full season, as well as 9-8-17 in 27 playoff games. Hopefully the DG v1 program is still archived somewhere and his revision control can revert back to that version. In other words, can MSL hack the old password and reload that prime software? :skeptic:

You realize we are not making the playoff right ?

Now, can Hugo get off its collective keister and get someone who can police the game when needed, so that a 22 year old rookie doesn't have to be it each and every game and then have surgeries? That would be great. Thank you.
A player that polices the game like Laraque? Waiting for a notary to confirm that the opposing player has given legal permission to fight? Please this isn’t 1995.

We should have a lot of available cap space no? Drouin and Byron is almost 9 million
Byron isn't counting against the cap. Caufield needs a raise. And then, we don't know what types of moves HuGo are planning for the UFA and trade markets.

ON top of everything, it makes games worth watching for the hope that we see a good Gurianov....until....maybe...it doesn't. Keeps the interest alive.

Also until proven otherwise, I have just as much hope in the new scouting group than I had in Timmins....which means.....not a whole lot. So I prefer guys like Gurianov to a mid-draft pick.
