This kids skating ability is insane. Have to admit I wasn't sure his game would translate as much to higher levels. Glad I look dumb on that because this kid is so damn good. Avs got a damn good prospect. I dread the day he joins the avs full time and feeds pucks to that top line. I don't know if anyone else in the NHL has ever shown that kind of rushing ability at any level.

I reiterate, I'd like to see Makar given a shot on Team Canada heading to the World Championships this spring as the 8th. D-man to see if he can work his way into the Top 6.

but knowing the small minds that work at Hockey Canada, they still probably are pissed at him for saying no to their Olympic invite.

Makar is a treat to watch.

Hockey East > Big Ten. Not sure what you are thinking.

I was under this assumption as well and was surprised by his comment.

Actually it's pretty even
Both have 2 teams ranked in the top 10
Big 10 is 6-3 against the hockey east this year
plus the big 10 had 3 teams in the frozen four last year
1) NCHC 50-21-8 (.684)
2) Big 10 34-22-5 (.598)
3) Hockey East 50-40-8 (.551)

Makar with 2+2 tonight for 24 points after 20 games this season. Had a beauty of an assist on the PP.

I went to this game. It's really jarring to see how much better he is than the rest of the players on the ice. Two goals were great but he dominated defensively. He's also twice as fast as the rest of the players in the game. He gambles offensively but has speed to burn getting back. Really good angles and seems to know where everyone is at all times. He had one pass under pressure from behind his own goalline that hit a streaking winger on the tape from 100 feet but the winger botched it.

Excellent player. Really fun to watch.

He should definitely be invited, he would be perfect for the style of game over there.

But as you said, Hockey Canada, who knows what they are thinking.

He also turned down CHL so he could play NCAA, turned down the NHL at the end of last season and beginning of this season as well as the Spengler last month.

All these revenue generating things will forever be on his resume for HC. Unless he becomes a franchise defensemen I'd bet on him never being invited to any tournaments for HC.
