Just further confirmation of the above. It's probably a good move for his development, with the CHL being questionable right now.

Especially if discussions about no hitting stay in place.

His transfer is cancelled, because he has a contract with Barrie he can't sign a new deal with Väsby. Instead, he had to go on a loan which he can't, since HockeyAllsvenskan only can loan NHL and SHL contracts.

That sucks. I was looking forward to watching him play against men and on a team with Lavoie.

Although it's also kind of funny that the deal fell through, since Vasby's management had already pencilled him in as the greatest player in their team's history. Yes, seriously. Vasby's manager said this yesterday:

"Sometimes it is easy to use superlatives when describing new acquisitions. But this time, the title super talent is simply the only correct description one can make of the Canadian acquisition. It is namely the case that Brandt Clarke will probably be the greatest talent in the history of Väsby Hockey who will wear the green and white-red Väsby jersey."

Why can't he instead cancel his OHL contract? It's not like he needs the OHL any further. He might be able to play in the NHL next season, and if not, he could start in the AHL because he wouldn't have been drafted out of the CHL.

He is more then likely just going to find a different league to be loaned to in Europe.

To be fair, calling him the greatest talent in the team's history isn't exactly a stretch. They had a miracle run in the 80's and got demolished in their only season in the top league. After that, they've been in the third tier with a few seasons in the fourth even.
And now, they're a punching bag in the second tier. He wouldn't be their best player, but the biggest, most exciting talent for sure.

In addition to being unfortunate for him as a player (since he can’t play just yet), it’s also a really bad look for his agent.
He really should have been aware of these things before attempting to orchestrate this.
Other CHL’ers already tried and failed to do the same thing long before this was agreed to (Greig, McLennon)..

Greig and McLennon were supposed to be loaned to the tier below Allsvenskan. Can't compare those.

What is different with Kirk, Lambos, Bedard being able to play? Pretty sure they were also under contract in the CHL

It is more a problem with the specific Swedish league not allowing loans from any leagues other then the NHL and AHL. Don't think it is an issue on the CHL side. From what I understand anyways.

Both, I guess. It started as a real signing, no loan, a full season long contract. the CHL then stepped in and said Clark couldn't get out of his contract with his OHL team and so they tried with a loan instead, but the league said no.
