Thank you both Ace and Chainshot.. I haven't had a chance to tune in yet and the updates have been great.

Imagine being drafted (I think on your third time after being passed twice) and then coming over and getting your ACL blown up and being completely derailed. Then, a few years later, you score 2 points in your first game ever while Kulich and Jiricek are watching. Nice story!

I wonder where Kulich will play next season. Playing another year in AHL is completely meaningless I'd say. At the age of 18, he has over 20 goals in the AHL this year and he proved that he can play adult hockey and succeed.
Unfortunately Buffalo is pretty loaded in attack, so I hope he will get his chance next year.

I'd say he's been in AHL too long already... I think guys like Chytil and Pasta were called up after about 35 games.

I originally thought he might be up all week, but he's facing Jiricek's Monsters again tomorrow so I would think he goes back for that. I'm still amused that Kulich and Jiricek came up for his debut.

Part of it is going to be where they project him. Is he going to play center or wing at the NHL level and if so, how long does it take him to get his game in order in his own zone? On the wing, he's a good offensive player and can finish. At center, it's been rougher, especially in terms of both covering deep in his own zone and transitioning the puck up the ice. So... if they would say what they think it is, I could see it being easier to tell.

They weirdly have been mostly healthy this year at forward so the recall opportunities have been limited. They've used 11 different defensemen, but only 18 forwards (Rousek was the 18th). I'm wondering if he starts the year in the AHL, goes to the U20's and then returns up onto the NHL squad to end next year.

You're probably closer to reality. I hope I don't see him at the Jr's at all though. I'd like a full 82 game rookie season. I love the AHL but I do believe there is such a thing as too much AHL. Don't want him to become a tweener.

Having said that .. really happy Sabres took him and really happy with how the development is going. I'm just impatient!lol

Tied with 17 year old Port for points! Not sure what happened there but it clearly fell apart. Only hope I have is that Kitchener were a trainwreck (bad coach who got fired) and that is the reason. But it's probably more than that. A few of the Czech posters have now said they don't think Hamara will ever come close to NHL. I want to see what he does next year at Xmas for U20 team as he should be an offensive leader but nothing about his OHL stats suggest that.lol
 
Rousek's debut made it possible to repeat the result of the previous season. In the 21/22 season, 39 Czechs also played at least one game in the regular season. In seasons 20/21 and 19/20, there were 34 such players each.

Kulich, frk, knot, galvas or raska may get us to 40! Maybe someone else I missed. Unlikely but I still think we hit 40!

I was curious... turns out Vrana is our tenth best goal scorer and he's played at least 25 less games than anyone on the list.lol I don't think he'll catch Krejci but he should end up 9th.haha

Another nice fact, we may have 7 x 20 goal scorers this season!

Last one: Kaut scored again last night.. in the NHL. Curious if SJ keeps him, let's him loose, back in Europe... I really have no idea where he ends up. Hope NHL and SJ for 1 year.
 
And, in case you were wondering, this is last year. We had TWO guys at 20 or more and our top guy was 40.

Significantly better this year as 18 goals (Palat who was 3rd) would be 6th best today and I think Krejci and Zacha can beat 18.

Kubalik clearly reads my stuff. He is our 5th 20 goal Czech!!! And it was a beaut!

Lauko got in a fight! I still cannot believe that he is outplaying Jenik, Kaut and Zadina on a stacked roster!!! It's not like he is doing this in Arizona, SJ or Detroit.. he's doing this on a team that won the President's trophy 6 months ago.lol

Looks like Sustr didn't get us to 40! But Dostal is starting.. getting primed for the Worlds! :-)
