I genuinely believe Vrana is the most gifted Czech goalscorer in the NHL currently. Even better than Pastrnak. Majority of his goals are filthy snipes. If only he could get his head straight, he would be a 40 goal scorer year in year out.

I wonder if he gets selected for the World Championship, he sucked last year (well aside from a few beauty goals he has sucked everytime he suited for national team) and Jalonen's defensive style of play is certainly not welcoming toward offense only forwards. But can you leave out a player of his talent?

The talent is there, no doubt. But Pasta is the overall better shooter. Vrana has a more accurate wrist shot, Pastrňák a better volley shot and is far more skilled in the area in front of the goal.
I would really like to see him start doing well and start avoiding problems off the pitch, there is too much wasted talent from the czech players we relied on..

He was doing amazing. Then they brought in Kane and Tarasenko and it fell apart. I'm not sure he lost form so much as he got slotted into a different part of lineup.

There are Czech players who I don't care all that much about when they score, gyus like Hertl, Faksa or Kampf, because majority of their goals are redirections, rebounds. But whenever I see Vrana scored, I need to see the goal, because more often than not it's a high skill snipe. Something we see very rarely from Czech players.

Yes, I definitely agree with that. Unfortunately, other parts of his game are the problem. It's probably not a coincidence that everywhere he ended up having a problem with the coach or the manager. And that includes the representation. That's why it's a shame that such a talented player has such problems. Moreover, in our situation, where so many players have not lived up to expectations and others have fatal health problems.

On the topic of Vrana.. I saw a great tweet about him (I think JFresh but could've been Andy and Rono)... basically saying it doesn't matter who his linemates and he can always score. You could bring him to World's and put him on line 3 with 2 energy guys from Extraliga and he'd still score. He's an absolute beaut at creating chances for himself (we have lots of Czechs like that) and finishing (we don't have as many of those.lol).

Mind you, I have a huge bias for him and always want him on NT.

Marek Alscher signed a 3 year ELC! Another D with a shot.

Jan Bednar signed a 2 year deal in AHL and was assigned to ECHL. Not a death sentence for a goalie but he's got some work to do.

Vejmelka wasnt even a backup goalie again tonight. Its not the first match this happened and he is not listed among injured players. Anyone knows whats happening there?

And any info on when Hronek will be back on ice?

Jan Spunar may hear his name called in the draft this year. Earlier in the season he gave up some soft goals, but something clicked in the past few weeks and he's cleaned that up and been on fire for a Portland team that hasn't offered much scoring support. In the month of march, he has a .927 save percentage and possibly stolen the net from the incumbent overage starter. Really impressive from the 18 year old

Healthy scratch because they have such a big lead in the standings. They are resting him. On a good note.. Zboril played 18 minutes today and got an assist. Sounds like he played awesome. I look forward to his next game in November.lol Lauko played too! Both guys would be regulars now if they weren't Bruin's IMO.

Palat is not in form but will by playoffs and the Devil's look great!

Hronek.. no idea, few more weeks. Keep him healthy for World's and I think it'll work out in Vancouver next year. They obviously wanted him!

Is it possible 4 Czechs Goalies get drafted? Spunar, Hrabal, Dybal and Suchanek?

That is one thing we've done consistently well as we always have at least 1 goalie drafted every year. 8 currently playing in NHL (Dostal and Patera are not full timers) and then we have a LOT of drafted goalies in North America. Just need a few to become bonafide starters on good teams.. was really hoping Vejmelka and Vladar would be traded.

FTR.. I REALLY hope Vladar goes to the World's. My bias is showing again!lol

How many teams will Zohorna play for in the AHL?lol
Why has Kral been stuck at 21 games forever? What is the injury?
What does Knot have to do to get a callup?
Why is Jenik only at 23 games?
Galvas at .5ppg and no callup?
What do Frk and Rousek have to do to get a call? They're killing it!
Will Kulich get a cup of coffee game?
What about Jiricek?

20 goals, 19 assists, 39 points and 13 games to go! He needs 11 points in 13 games to get to 50 (and then get paid!).

Another guy who is having an absolute career year in every possible stat!

Hes not gonna get 50, 45 at most, but still an amazing year for him.

Both need to find a new home pronto or their NHL careers are over. Monty is not a fan of either.
