Thought I'd look him up. In any year (other than last year) he'd probably be in our Top 4. Good size, 35 Extraliga matches, even some playoff games and scores at Junior level.

I am curious to see how they deploy him but he really doesn't sound that bad and he is used to big ice. I am sad as I wanted to see Port play.

I thought he was the best of the Czech defensemen his Hlinka year. He hasn't done that well since, but not a bad player.

I hope that presence of our top 1st line (Kulich-Šapovaliv-Šalé) will make other lines more powerful and they will be playing with more passion, without feeling of any pressure, because all of the pressure will be put on the 1st line. Let´s go boys, keep up the good work from the previous WC. Don´t wait for them, hunt them!

Only 6 D-men on the roster so far, it is probable that Galvas has some minor health issues which won't allow him to play tomorrow, or at least it isn't sure now that he would be able to play. Sigh, another weird decisions. Another ELH regular left behind. I think we are overrating the quality of the CHL. Sure they might be the best junior leagues in the world, but damn they are still only juniors. Its not the same as playing amongst men. Imo players who are regularly playing in some top euro league with men > players playing in juniors in CHL, unless of course they really dont stand out there, but damn Hujer, who is forgetable and average even amongst juniors should not be in the team instead of Mastalirsky or Perez.

Same with Redlich. Guy is 19 already and barely is above average in junior! Swedish league lol. Top guys at his age are having their full season (some even 2nd) in SHL with men already, and somehow we think that guy playing still at juniors at his age can give something to the team.

Also why do we need two checking lines ? Lets play some offense with some balls ffs. Its the same Kari shit defensive hockey we played at seniors all over again. Why depend so much on slow, clunky players, who are just "big" instead of just depend on guys who can score and can do a real damage out front.

I dont know, I just cant help myself, but I dont like very much how the team is build, and dont have a lot of belief in the coaches. Hope I am wrong and we suceed, but I kinda fear its gonna be a big dissapointing mess.

Assuming bear is close with his prediction.. our third line is bares, melovsky and stancl. Definitely some scoring punch there.
And our third pair has jiricek on D.


I get your point. I definitely have concerns myself. However, I'm relatively okay with the potential lineup. But ask me tomorrow after the game.lol

I assume hrabal tomorrow and vondras next day. Seems like the most optimal setup. Part of me says play the backup against the US of they are the juggernaut I think they are.

Only real disappointment for me is not seeing Galvas (potentially) and Port.
Otherwise it is what it is and could still be effective.
Tomorrow will definitely tell us a lot. Setting very low expectations (which is hard) and hope to be surprised.
Our 1st line is what makes it tough lol

I usually go into these tournaments with interest in how particular players play but not expectations. I'm having a hard time not expecting Kulich to rip up the round robin games at least. Dichotomy mode activate!

I just cant stand Hujer, Pribyl and Redlich in the team. Those are not NT quality players.

Look at Slovaks, they dont f*** around with some "checking" lines bs where the players are apparently forbidden to score or be productive in front, otherwise its not a checking line lol (at least that is how it sometimes feels Czech coaches are thinking). 90 - 95% of their guys in offense are looking like seriouse thread in front. Most of their guys have over ppg in their teams or are already playing with men. There are no players, who are average at best at CHL or still barely above average in euro junior leagues at age of 19 lol (Pribyl, Redlich, if we wanted to browse in eruo junior leagues, there are literally at least 10 better players we could choose) Thats how it should look in such a short and intensive tourney.

They have much more interesting and better composed team I must say, and we are not the favourites on the paper today against them. I am kinda scared of todays game to be honest lol.

But lets go guys, prove me that I am completelly wrong. Please :D
 
The only thing I have no problem with is the removal of Židlický.
I will pray that Cech is not as disastrous as in the preliminaries. I don't know what to think about our team at all. We will rely on the first line, but will Šalé play with great commitment? Will others join? As I wrote, i prefer not to have high expectations and maybe be pleasantly surprised.

Goalies are listed according to the number the are wearing in the official lineups. Vondráš is wearing 29, Hrabal 30, therefore Vondráš will always be listed first in the document. The official lineups issued by the IIHF approx one hour before the game don't indicate which goalie is going to start.

Hrabal stupid goal, Cech absolutely crazy passing, when he repeatedly gets rid of the puck unnecessarily, Kulich is playing absolutely nothing so far, he just makes unnecessary mistakes. Add to that Jiříček.. Fuc.ing championship..

No worries. Still 1 period to go. I trust they’ll adjust. Difference has been penalties so far. Hard to get any momentum going. They started to get a bit more pressure towards the end there.
Just need to kill this penalty again and keep forechecking that Slovak defence

Just as I feared lol. Want us to suceed, but there just something I really dont like about this team and dont believe in it. I fear the whole tourney is going to be a disaster.
