I thought we'd finish 5th out of 5 and we are well on our way. The scores aren't bad though as both losses were 4-2. A lot of times in these tournaments those scores skyrocket to 5-0 or so. So we're competitive. Hopefully we win one soon and suprise in the semi's!

I still haven't seen a confirmation of Necas.

They should get the confirmation in few days.

I'm pretty sure that Nečas will be there. There are no big reasons why not, the only thing that can stop him is an injury.
Or a callup... AHL player of the week.. Zykov is gone, some of their finns are in a rut and Carolina is not in a playoff spot.

Chytil is on the first line in practice even with Buchnevich and Zuccarello back. Highly improbable that the Rangers will let him go to the WJC.

There's still another 10+ days to make a decision. Chytil has 2 points in his last 8 games.

I think its unlikely, but I wouldn't rule it out. It also might be better for Chytil to play at the WJC's, if he's still struggling at that point. If it helps get Andersson off the fourth line, it'll also be of help.

Chytil isn’t struggling but his point totals are

For a scoring forward, I don’t think you can split those two things up into different categories. Rookies usually struggle to score because they don’t have the same composure in front of net as veterans, but rookies usually have it tough.

Am I worried about his play? No, but if his points slump continues, it may be best to move Andersson up in the lineup, while sending Chytil to the WJC.

I don’t mind sending Chytil to the WJC, in fact I’d actually prefer that so (like you said) Andersson can move up for a few games and Chytil can get his confidence up (not that I think his confidence is low at all) by destroying the WJC and give Chytil a little break from playing against men

My prediction on the final place:
Dream: 3rd Place
Expectation: Lost in the QF
I will agree. I think most of us are in the same boat. But.. we are in a group with Canada and Russia. They seem to be 1 and 2 this year. I think we could beat any of the teams in the other group

If we get Necas and Chytil... I like our chances at a medal to be honest. I know the D is average but I like a lot of them. Plus, all 3 of our goalies are very good IMO. Even is Skarek shits the bed then we still have 2 good ones ready to go. That's a great position to have good depth in.

No Necas and Chytil... that would be tough.

That 3 on 3 for the Czechs vs Canada West was hillarious.. some missed calls against the Czechs but Canada was pretty dominant. Now time for the shootout. Czechs came back from 4-2 to tie it up 4-4. Dvorak did a great job coming in relief of Vomacka. This might help us make the Semi's. Need to beat Canada East who hasn't won yet... Russia and US have been the class of the tourney so far. Of course, 18 year olds so playoffs can be totally different.

We won.

Bambula looked great today.

We won! Beat Canada West in shootout. If we beat Canada East in regulation we could finish 3rd clean in the pool. I have no idea who Jan Bambula is but he had 3 points in the game (2 goals and an assist) and scored in the shootout. I only saw third and OT/shootout... Dvorak looked real good! We were worse in 3 on 3 but better in shootout to my eye.

It looks that Blümel and Rousek are gonna be call up to the U20 team after the tournament... also Teplý and Střondala have decent chance.

I only saw the 1st half of game against Russia and highlights from the game against Canada West, but Rousek looks very skilled. I think his skating needs work, it's a bit awkward, but hands are there.

Rousek was everywhere. I'm still laughing about Bambula... I was trying to google him and not much info. I think he just had the game of his life. Wonder if there is more there?

Odd exchange today. Rutta went through waivers and is on his way out of the NHL to the AHL. Hronek, is going the other way as Green is out. Great news... Hronek was almost a .ppg in the AHL. Hope he gets some good looks and NHL experience. Then goes to the World's for us. Simek has also recently, finally, found a home in the NHL and is doing well with 3 points in 5 games. Hopefully he can stay up on the big team - I'm not sure if he is there temporarily because of injury or on his own merit.
