WJC: Czech Republic 2019 Roster Talk

We just ran the table and beat both Canada's. Great result. Our biggest opponent is the schedule as we have to play 4 games in a row to medal. We finished last night at midnight and now play at 4pm against Russia. I'm assuming vomacka today and Dvorak tomorrow.

Rousek is growing on me... Bambula seems like a classic 'energy guy' and makes things happen but Rousek seems to be more calm and cerebral. Always calm and creating space with an extra move/deke... I like how he thinks.

Stubinger (sp?) has the goal but keeps coughing up the puck... weird game for him.
 
I know we're the underdog but, all thing being fair, this game is very even. I'm not sensing we're much worse than Russia. We're playing very well... as are they.
 
1-1 going into 3rd period. Lots of Czechs looking good. Dvorak standing tall. Rousek looks good. Blumel has had some nice looks as well. I feel like the closer it stays tied the better our chances. It's definitely a much closer game than I thought it'd be.

Yeah it’s a very even game. Our offence has been able to create a decent amount of pressure. Nice to see because I also saw Russia winning fairly easily. Would be amazing to be able to come out on top.
 
2 stupid f***en penalites and 2 Russian goals.. 1st penalty was a blatant trip at middle ice.. Russia scores 5 seconds later. Within a minute, we crosscheck a Russian from behind and take a penalty and they score again. Not sure why the Czechs wanted to be shorthanded for the first 4 minutes of the 3rd period but it is a bad strategy. Implosion

I like the team and how hard they might... Hopefully bronze tomorrow which would be a great result. Start of third was poor and that was the game.

I would be surprised. It didn't look good at all.

We should hear more tomorrow. Honestly I would send a Wings doctor for this one or have him come down to Detroit.

Unfortunately it looked like it could be significant. I hope he is okay, really wishing for the best, but it wasn't looking great put less and less weight towards it and went straight down the tunnel. Got pinched against the boards real hard.

EDIT: I see you found the video I was watching through my AHL live for it with half the message written as I had a friend send me that he expected him to miss significant time and unfortunately I kind of concur from the looks of this video. Also he might not be traveling because the decision was made for him to go to Detroit tomorrow for evaluation with the Detroit Red Wings doctors. I would be surprised with a prospect that is this important to them that they wouldn't want him in town being evaluated, especially with a need to make a decision on the WJC quickly.

Losing Zadina would be an insane loss. Would need one of Necas or Chytil to keep this team reasonably competitive with the big 5
 
Might as well just forfeit the tournament now. Zadina is the one guy we just couldn't afford to lose.

Yeah it's really rubbish if he can't make it. And Chytil may not come either. Urgh. We're unlucky, but at the end of the day we just have to produce more depth as this is always going to happen :(
