If this team doesnt get Chytil but gets Necas they could still make some serious noise and be in medal contention. Zadina-Necas was arguably the top line in the tourney last year, no reason to think they wouldnt be even more dominant now (assuming Necas is released). Toss a guy like Kaut on the second line for depth scoring and that team looks solid upfront. Getting Chytil back would be huge though obviously

D. Kase, Kampf, Spacek, Zacha. Not a star group, but some potential NHLers, even if they max out as bottom 6 forwards. Guys like Zdrahal or Kostalek could be solid as well, though that's reaching a bit.

Not sure why Chytil keeps getting mentioned. Next to no chance we get him.
I have just heard a certain player, who was probably in everyone's projected line-up, didn't make the WJC squad. Can't say more though.

[/ QUOTE]
why can not you say that? I'm interested in this, can you write to [email protected]?

Thanks... I noticed the goalies all are still chasing NHL dreams as well with vanecek and vladar getting closer. Maybe backups soon.

As always, almost no D.

Amazing that kampf has passed many in that group as he's a regular NHL player now.

Yes but he was injured after that...

And its since been said that hes still going by a wings reporter. So this guy I quoted wasnt up to date when he said it sounds like Zadina is going, hes for sure going

What is everyone’s take on Lauko? He’s a Bruins pick and was one of our best prospects in development camp this past summer. Seems to be super competitive and clutch. What’s your take?

Does anybody know which players were added to the U20 roster from the U19 team? I know about Jan Kern and that's all.

I believe that Jan Kern is the only player from the U19 joining the WJC roster.
Ok, so Jan Kern who has 12 points in 20 games was invited and a guy like Matěj Blümel who has like 3 times more points in the same league with same number of games is not invited... and Matěj is even younger... That's a little suprise for me...

I didn't see neither of them playing for a long time, so I don't know, perhaps Jan Kern is more capable of killing penalties or something like that? I believe the coaches were looking for a 3rd or 4th liner, and maybe Blümel would be rather a 1st or 2nd line forward, and there was no free spot for him.

Other nice Czech things (other than final confirmation on Zadina/Necas)... Simek is doing a lot to guarantee himself a job in the NHL. Personally, I thought he was the best of Kempny/Jerabek/Rutta/Sulak and he got the last chance to make it. Radil, to my total surprise, is also hanging on to his dream. From a national team perspective who would've thought that Radil and Kampf would be regulars but Kovar couldn't crack a lineup? Hronek looks to have a full time job for at least a few weeks in the NHL (I think he really shines next season). O. Kase is in full flight and almost a .ppg for a surging Anaheim. Amazingly, Polak is averaging 20 minutes a night (I honestly thought he'd be playing 18 in the Extraliga by now). Kepny is on top of the plus/minus category as well (or at least was a few days ago). Rittich has stolen the number 1 job on a very good team! And Mrazek seems to be a temporary number 1 now as well - even better, he has a WJCU20 poster in his image now.

On the other hand. Moravcik and Svoboda are in the ECHL. Really illustrates just how hard making the NHL is. Even harder to stay in it (Rutta). Sulak seems AHL destined for awhile. I was surprised Hyka hung on for so long. He seems to be a classic 'too good for AHL and marginal NHL' category. I hope he battles it out though. Still doesn't look like we'll have a first round (0r maybe 2nd) pick this draft though. Only name mentioned routinely here is Has around 40 to 50.

Ask me in 2 weeks.

I thought he would've done better in the Q. He looked good in week 1 of preseason (which is much easier than week 2 which is much easier than the actual NHL). He said he wanted to go to the AHL (like Chytil, Necas and Zadina did after being drafted) but was sent to Junior instead. He's doing very well at a .ppg. Still, I thought he would've had more points.

At the U18 he led the team in scoring but, in the game that mattered most, I didn't notice too much of him. I think he'll be an NHLer but I think he is a slight grade below our current crop of first rounders.

I like Varada, but if Kern is indeed the one getting called up from the U19...
Rousek was by far the best Czech forward at the WJAC, followed by Teply. How did those not get a call up? Regarding Blumel, he didn't look that good at the U19 tournament.

I think we will have a 1st rounder. And I don't really care C. Button and some others think otherwise, Czechs rarely get rated fairly.

Ostap Safin left the team because of an injury. Loss for sure, but not as big as it might seem.
