Gotta love having Varada as head coach, and Elias as his assistant. This is an underrated aspect imo.
I think this team has potential to go all the way, if Skarek plays great. The D core is not the best but it can work.Goalies:

Radim Šalda (Rimouski, QMJHL)
Libor Zábranský (Kelowna, WHL)

Martin Hugo Haš (Tappara Tampere, Finsko)
Dalimil Mikyska (Kometa Brno/Třebíč)
Matyáš Zelingr (Kladno)
Michael Gaspar (Mountfield HK/Litoměřice)
Daniel Bukač (Niagara, OHL).
Offense:
Filip Chytil (New York Rangers, NHL)
Martin Nečas (Charlotte, AHL)
Filip Zadina (Grand Rapids, AHL)
Martin Kaut (Colorado, AHL)

*I don´t understand how Jakub Pour made the team, Lukaš Rousek would be better choice, that´s just bad joke.
If Chytil is there I think they can compete almost any team. It would be stupid not to give Teply and Mysak a shot, who else other than Pytlik and Galvas has played more Extraliga games this season than Mysak? Nobody. Also how are some putting Rousek as a substitute with the numbers he's put up this year?
How is Mysak doing lately anyways? He had such a great start and now hasn’t produced a point in like 20 games...
Chytil's not trending well in recent games. Only one point in six games. I wouldn't loan him to the Czech's because I think its just a couple of bad games and not about him struggling at the NHL level, but the Rangers have three of their top 4 wingers returning to the lineup in the upcoming week. I could see a situation where Chytil continues to struggle, and then is moved down the lineup in the upcoming weeks because of it. If that happens, maybe he's loaned to the Czech's, but thats not a very likely scenario. If you are a Czech fan, thats the scenario you are hoping for though.
Chytil might not be avalaible. Safin is maybe injured. Pour shouldn't be there at all, there are better players than him like Blümel, Rousek, Teplý maybe even Myšák.I'm going to take a stab at guessing the lineup. This lineup assumes all eligible players are able to make it. Some of these guys who play in the Czech Republic and haven't played in a JR tournament I've never seen play before. Basing this off stats and reports. I separated Kaut from Zadina and Necas to balance scoring and make the second line more of a threat (seen lot's of speculation regarding that line).
Zadina-Necas-Safin
Lauko-Chytil-Kaut
Hladonik-Kondelik-Jenik
Pekar-Hrabik-Machala
Pour
Kral-Galvas
Salda-Hugo Has
Kvasnicka-Bukac
Zabransky
Skarek
Patera
Dostal
Team has quite a bit of star power. Wouldn't be surprised if they made a splash this year. 16 drafted players on the roster I put together.

Feels weird that we (Finns) will get hurt more than Canada. Our top 3 defensemen (Vaakanainen, Jokiharju and Heiskanen) also we may lose our top winger (Tolvanen) and top center (Kotkaniemi). That is five guys who are first rounders, it is absolutely ridiculous. I like it but also I hate it.I think it's a great problem to have that we have players that are in the NHL and not availaible. TSN was pointing out that Canada isn't who is getting killed by this. Normally they have their best in the NHL. However, the States (Tkachuk), Finns (4 guys whose name I can't spell) and Swedes (Dahlin) all have major players missing. Finns got hurt the most .. I'm guessing Kontkaniemi, Heskinen, Juoharri (Henri) and one more (I apologize to Finnish people for my spelling and inaccuracy).
He is trending down and might even be due for AHL time... this could be a real boost for him. I checked and, if they allowed him to leave after Flyer's game on 23rd then he'd miss 5 games for Rangers. 4 if we lose in Quarters.
Do I think it'll happen... no. I don't think the Rangers are even considering it. But it might be a better boost for his confidence than going to the AHL. Representing the National team and playing huge minutes would be great for him IMO. Not like the Rangers are making the playoffs.
A few years ago, my NHL team the Oilers, did send Jesse P and he was doing nothing for us and ended up in the AHL.. they didn't even consider the World Jrs. It was a stupid decsion.. but, I think, the norm.
I'm still waiting for confirmation of Necas and Zadina. Kaut has been confirmed. Zadina should go. Necas? He is doing very well in AHL and they just lost Zykov on waivers...
It's hard to say. All of them can be number ones.Who's the projected starting goalie? Is it Skarek? He seems to struggle internationally.

Czechs are in a good position. Your best prospects are really close to play in the NHL but are not there yet. A lot of skill to play for your team.
I actually absolutely hate that the gold medal game is going to 3 on 3 in overtime. Feels like fixing something that wasn't broken to me. The only change I have been harping on the IIHF to make is to just get rid of the shootout in the Gold Medal game. There is no time constraints or scheduling conflicts with the Gold Medal game that require it to be decided by a shootout.....But they seem to have actually pushed it even farther in the other direction.https://www.bardown.com/the-iihf-wo...t-that-s-sure-to-please-hockey-fans-1.1221841
I don't mind the change but Canadians usually hate the shootout (when they lose) because it is a skills competition and not a game anymore. 3 on 3 is also a skills competition... most teams only play their top 6 forwards and top 2 D in a 3 on 3. The Oiler's, who are the best at it (the only thing they are the best at) only play McDavid, Drai, Klefbom, Nurse, RNH and one more forward du jour. That's 6 guys and a goalie. A shootout is 5 guys and a goalie unless it goes to extra rounds.
Yeah no problem, Finnish names can be difficult to write if you don't check how to write them.Thank you for clearing up the names and positions... I said 'Kontkaniemi, Heskinen, Juoharri (Henri)' so I got all 3 wrong.lol I also missed Tolvanen and Vaakanainen (who I had to google).
If I'm being honest... I'd rather the Czechs get 8th place every year and have 8 guys become NHL players. For instance, we have all our Top D available and they don't look good. Same with Chytil... it's a nice problem to have - too good to leave the NHL (if that happens).
We are averaging maybe 2 guys to the NHL per tournament AND losing.
That's why I don't feel bad for Canada... they lose and go crazy BUT 50 guys that year make it to the NHL.
I agree. You can't win with this kind of defense. It would be very mediocre even if we had some Hajek/Hronek guy, but we don't. I hope Dostal can have a good tournament, he carried the 00s for three years, but we would need Mrazek-like perfomace to make up for the lack of quality D.I really like that team, you just gotta love those first two lines with the top-end talent. The defense will hold us back though. We would need to add at least one Hajek/Hronek-like player to become a real medal contender imo. Even with this strong offense and Chytil on the roster I don't much believe we would be able to beat teams like Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden in the playoffs twice so we get a medal with this defense. But there's always a hope, maybe Skarek or Dostal will perform their carrer best.
No worries, he probably won't be around at that stage even if he somehow starts the tournament as starter. He is brutal at international level.Yeah no problem, Finnish names can be difficult to write if you don't check how to write them.
I don't know if I would want the Finns to get 8th place if our top guys aren't playing.. We have depth on our younger age groups so anything but a top 3 finish sounds disappointing to me. It is a nice problem of course.. younger guys can show their skills on the "big" level.
I think you are one of the biggest favourites this year, defence may be a problem but you have Skarek in goal. He has been excellent this year, hopefully he'll continue playing that way in this tournament. I hope he doesn't play well if we meet you guys in some point though, lol.
