Lol 1.06 hit with an extra 16gb to download
  • Quests
    • Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict.
  • Console-Specific
    • Improved memory management and stability, resulting in fewer crashes.
  • PC-Specific
    • Removed the 8 MB save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix save files corrupted before the update.

The funny thing is, I've only had 3 crashes in about 15 hours of play which honestly isn't that bad. Curious to see how stable it made other aspects of the game.

This will never be a great game, minor fixes and removing the bugs won't be enough. Absolutely pathetic effort. Amazing that there are so many positive reviews, tells all you need to know about "professional" game reviews.

The entire AI, cops, physics etc needs to be redone and that ain't happening.
I mean it is a great game though lol, at least on PC.

There's a video on YouTube comparing the physics to GTA5. It really made me appreciate how great GTA5 is in that regard.
If this game was GTA, I wouldn't be playing it. I am not a GTA fan at all. I want a game that's different from that, this is the type of game I like instead.

Just finished the game and I gotta say - I absolutely loved every bit of it. Outside of a bug here or there, this game is just fantastic. Played on the PS5

One of my favorite games of all time for sure though. Fitting since my all time favorite is Witcher 3. I'd say this falls in the top 3-5 range. Shame not everyone is able to experience it this way yet, but I hope that those of you who can't enjoy it right now do give them time to fix it or eventually come back to it. Trust me, it's worth it.

My only complaint is I wish the main story was longer. I completed it (the good ending w/ epilogue), and multiple side quests including an entire romance side quest line (Panam), in like 20-24 hours. Was hoping it would be a Red Dead 2 or the Witcher 3 type length, which is really long but that's just how much I was enjoying this game. To be fair though, every mission is unique, and I can tell there's quite a bit of replay value (several different endings, I've only experienced 2 of them so far).

But seriously, 10/10 fantastic game. Excited to complete the rest of the side quests now. Already excited for DLCs too lol apparently they're coming as soon as early 2021

Blame fellow gamers for this. They complained that Witcher 3 was too long so CDPR shorted the main story.

CD Projekt "shortened" Cyberpunk's campaign over length complaints

Im not sure I'd use the word "great" to describe it, but I've had a lot of fun in the 35 hours I've put in so far. It's a good game.

The people who hate this game are either pissed about the bugs (justified) and/or whiny CDPR fanboys because this game didn't live up to its hype of being the second coming like they believe witcher 3 was.

I wasn't particularly hyped or had any expectations really so that's probably why I'm not mad over it. That and having a next gen console means all of my bugs were either superficial or easily dealt with by reloading a save.

Still feel bad for the people who bought it on base consoles though

The AI is completely broken, cops are a laughable spawning mess, tons of bugs, stale world due to lifeless braindead NPCs, atrocious physics and a ton of other major issues.

If this is greatness on PC then the standards are set really damn low.
The only thing you've mentioned that has had an impact on my experience 20 hours in is maybe the enemy AI.

Still CDPR's fault (if that's actually why, I'm skeptical)

It's their job to know what criticisms are real and not. Witcher 3 sold buckets, what do you believe what gamers "say" or what they did? Because what they did was buy buckets of Witcher 3 and it built them so much goodwill that Cyberpunk sold tons just on the strength of that goodwill on a brand new property.

"it's only long because you think it's bad!"

If the game had good combat, a story you didn't describe as a "slog", and not a mostly empty world according to you, you almost certainly wouldn't be complaining about the length. None of your descriptions of the game lead me to believe you think it's a pretty good or decent game let down by its length (some people think this), rather you obviously just think it's not that good in most any aspect.

Or you'd just be less edgy about it if nothing else. You obviously have an axe to grind (RE: FANBOYS).

Hey I'm all for crapping on stuff if it deserves it, the way you do it though isn't very well reasoned.

Witcher 3 is one of my fave games and I felt it was a bit too long. It wasn’t a big deal I just kinda skipped a lot once I hit Skellige.

I think my enjoyment of Cuberpunk is mainly because
1. I have a PS5
2. I was excited for the game but did not buy into the hype that this was going to be a transcending game or something completely groundbreaking
3. I don’t “sandbox” games very much. I play the missions and side missions. Same with RDR2. I barely just “randomly explored” for the sake of it and if I did I didn’t do it for very long. BOTW is probably the game I’ve randomly explored the most.
4. The aesthetic and story is right up my alley and think that part of the game was well done.

I do think the game deserves criticism and also I feel like some of the criticism is just nit picky stuff that I personally don’t care about, but if it ruins part of the game for them that’s their fine opinion I just don’t share it (example is the video of yotes not deflating if you shoot them). People not being able to play the game, yeah that’s a major criticism and it sucks how they released the game.

or whiny CDPR fanboys because this game didn't live up to its hype of being the second coming like they believe witcher 3 was.

Weak.

The game has been hyped since what, 2014? Criticizing people for having their expectations be high due to CDPR’s marketing and hype of their game is disingenuous.

“I know you were expecting a GREAT game, but the game is still good so stop whining” is what you’re saying.

That's because witcher 3 was too ****ing long. 80+ hours of a story that you have to slog through with boring combat and an mostly empty world.

The only ones who justify that length are fanboys with zero taste. Even Witcher 2 at max is like 60 hours if you do everything

for one I’m not a fanboy. I enjoyed it but I haven’t revisited after beating it. Secondly I didn’t take 80 hours to beat the story.

You don’t need to agree but there is posts all over the internet about people complaining about they don’t want Cyberpunk story to be long.

Yeah CD said their data showed not a lot of people actually finished the main story on Witcher, and they got complaints about it being too long, so thats why the main story on Cyberpunk is shorter.

I'm sure you haven't played it and are just jumping on the dogpiling like a lot of people, but I'll bite. The only thing you mentioned that actually has had an impact is the bad AI. Who cares about cops spawning near you when you commit a crime - sounds like a nitpick. 'Tons of bugs', like I said I'm playing on PC, and it's nothing like the console version; there's some bugs but nothing major. Not even sure what atrocious physics even means - I'm guessing when you run into a car or something with a car you don't blow up or get sent flying? If these are the major issues you came up with (saw on the internet) then yea it's a great game. The writing, story, characters/character development, side quests, world building, combat, soundtrack, are all good to top tier.

I didn't mind the length of The Witcher 3 personally. But then again if a story keeps me engaged all the way through, I don't even notice. I mean it's not like I watch just one season of a good show. Don't feel some big need to rush to the end of a game if I'm having a good time. But I guess I have bad taste lol.

Also lol, Witcher 3 getting flak for an empty open world in the same thread where GTA 5 and RDR2 are getting comparative praise.

I'm about 16.5 hours in to the game, and not to sound contrarian, but there is an excellent game here. It's still early, but honestly this might be my favourite game this year. It's up against Hades for the title (as always, assuming Persona 5 Royal doesn't count).

I've hit a fair few minor graphical glitches and a couple technical ones (guys getting stuck in walls once, my gun wouldn't stop firing another), but nothing serious. I don't know if I'm lucky or if it is more a byproduct of playing a little slower and having hotfixes come down at the right time. I recall having many more problems with Skyrim and Fallout 4 back in the day, even this early in the game. Maybe Bethesda built up my tolerance a little.

The story line is interesting, the characters are engaging, the game play is fun. The driving sucks on mouse and keyboard (not exactly a surprise)....and the performance optimization needs work.

Now CDPR deserves plenty of flak for their dishonesty (including the features of the game that were advertised but cut out), but there's a gem at the heart of this game IMO and it deserves plenty of praise as well.
