Missing Buff's passing out of our zone big time , right now the Jets are playing hockey on the perimeter way too much . No one is ever driving to the middle of the ice or to the net , need some of the guys to start doing this ASP . Helly is getting better , that's a very good sign and can Kulikov stay healthy for even a 10 game segment , man that guy gets hurt waaaay too much . Has anyone seen Scheif ? because we could really use him right now .

If the team leadership can't get consistency and effort out of the team or themselves, they need to have a tough conversation.

55 and 26 are not getting their team to play at a high level .

Maurice isn't getting the team to play consistently.

Enough of this, already. This team is playing like they deserve to be back in the conference final and don't want to earn their way there. I really don't want a first round exit to be the motivation for better playing.

It was sad to see once again the game starting with Laine and Little playing together. They have generated basically nothing in the offensive zone for the past 10 games. Put Laine in 1st line, third line or fourth line but please, do something.

You just don't waste 40-50 goal scorer like this. He's playing bad but why not try to light some spark for him rather than hitting your head to the wall like has been done for the past 1,5 years (aside from November 2018).

I don't understand, that almost everything bad, what happends in the game is Laines fault? PP doesn't work -> he can not shoot the puck or keep the zone. 2nd line doesn't work -> he so lazy he doesn't do anything there.

In PP never Dman (Buff or Mo) passes straight to Laine for onetimer. It has to be always Wheeler who makes the pass. Change that!
2nd line play is wrong kind of style. Laine isn't N<>S kind of player. When Connor was moved to that line they played passing game and scored lot of goals. Now the play has gone back to chip and chase game and it doesn't work for them. In this game Connor chipped puck in to the zone and either him or Little couldn't get there before Pengs. Ou wait, who has to cover those two? Laine. He has to be below the game if we don't have puck posesson. And Myers, Ou god, why he has to always pitch in from his D position? And it's always winger (Laine) who covers his spot.

The play looked so much better when Perrault was on that line or Laine was his off wing with Little and Roslo.

At the moment he plays defencive winger role. Is that right role for young sniper?

Maurice has so many pieces to work with, but nothing is clicking right now. It doesn't help that our back end is crippled and the transition game is not where it needs to be.

PoMo could try to spread and kickstart the scoring by having a finisher on the 3 top lines this way:

Perreault - Chef - Laine
Connor/Ehlers - Little - Wheeler
Connor/Ehlers - Lowry - Copp

I think these lines would all bring their own element to the game, and they don't have any galring weaknesses.

They mailed this effort in and have been ass since Christmas break.

We are lucky to be a wild card team at this point.

I dont get this. We were pretty sharp most of what I watched? There was zero effort issues last night. We got beat by the better team last night. But we do not look like an AHL team. A good team got beat by a better one clicking on all cylinders.

I would love to see Paddy getting chance with Chef, but I don't hold my breath for that. Something has to be done. That's for sure. I think Connor could mesh very well with Lowry ja Tanev or Copp.

If Nicky is injured PoMo goes back to CSW (not good) but maybe then we see whole game of PLL. Even that is progress.

I agree but i really wish some reporter would ask Maurice why he never separates Wheeler and Scheif , ever . It's almost like it's written in their contracts that they are always together . Last night was a perfect opportunity to try it with us being down a forward for basically the whole game , just don't understand it and would love to hear Maurice answer that question .

Most fans have issues with our top 2 lines under performing at this level with their pathetic effort lately.

These star players are not showing up and that is just not acceptable.

The only guy that kept them in the game was Hellebuyck because it should have been a blow out.

It was kind of by necessity as Ehlers left the game injured after his first shift.

But yes, he didn't try much else beyond that line.

Trading Laine would be the worst blow to the Cup chances of Winnipeg and other teams in the league too. If Laine goes somewhere where he is properly utilized, that almost guarantees a Stanley Cup for the team every year in his prime.

Right now I don’t think his utilization has anything to do with his play. IF you watch his play closely and know “nothing” about him, you’d wonder how in the heck the kid is in the big leagues! He’s floating around, waving his stick at guys, coughing up the puck left and right and is truly a one trick pony right now. (if only I could find a picture of a one trick pony)

I think he needs to have his own press conference and tell everyone how horrible he is...that usually turns his game around.

I’ll also add that the Million Dollar Minister must have mistakenly cursed Patrik rather than blessing him. The timing is close to how his play has dropped off.

Sorry for targetting the kid, he truly is a special player and is just going through some rough times right now, but I’m just not sure utilization is his problem.

Re: Scheifele-Laine: if they were to be put together, what would change? Are we suddenly going to see a Laine that actually cares? How much will Scheifele be affected by a RW who plays entirely differently than his current one? Who would best balance out that line as the third wheel? Given the way our top 6 has performed, I'm not all that convinced that the issues would be solved in an instant. I don't think they are on a 'my-line-sucks-I-don't-care' -strike.

I wish they would block the corridor to the rink with a wall next game and ask every Jet to run through it or get the f*** out of the arena. Tired of seeing bullshit effort from highly paid professionals.

Another organization would trade for him, put him in a position to succeed and watch him win the rocket for the next ten years. We will let him rot.

And what position to succeed would that be? His limited time on line 1 has been abysmal. He simply can’t keep up with Wheeler and Scheifele, and when facing the toughest matchups that that line gets, he’s constantly coughing up the puck in board battles or turning it over.

Where would you put him to succeed? He’s no match with Lowry’s line. Fourth line?

Especially when Chiarot is your #4 and he's now left to fend for himself. Not singling him out by any means but it's a handicap for sure.
