One takeaway I have from this game is how much this team needs Buff. More than I expected actually.

this team has played with 5 starting dmen out and or half their team out last year like scheifele. problem is a lot bigger then buff being out.

Especially when Chiarot is your #4 and he's now left to fend for himself. Not singling him out by any means but it's a handicap for sure.

or trouba as your # 1. cant get over him joining the rush on that pk that led to a 4on 1 . there isn't a dman in the league that would have done that.

Buff being out does hurt, but certainly agree that the problem is bigger than just that. It’s not like we were lighting it up with Buff in the lineup.

I honestly think the Wheeler/Scheif/Maurice mutual admiration society is creating many issues for this team.

The Jets have 8 goals in our last 5 games.

4 of which were on a terrible Oiler team coming off a multi game losing streak that we barely beat.

Our top 2 lines better figure out how to score soon or we will be in the wild card spot within 10 more games.

We are not a strong team 5 on 5. When our powerplay takes a nap, we aren't a top team. Does not bode well for the playoffs. Vegas last year.

We also are not taken lightly anymore around the league , we have to work harder this season because of that . I can't remember the last time we got the other team's back-up goalie and before last season that happened alot . Not a excuse but the Jets have to bring their best every game because the other teams are mostly doing this to us .

Trouba will never be a #1 dman, he just doesnt have that sort of ceiling. He's alot like Hainsey in his prime, a good top 4 guy......which isn't a criticism, as you really can never have enough of those guys.

Last 5 games - 2W, 3L - 7GF, 14GA

That last 5 would be 1W, 4L except that Brossoit stole 1 for us with a 40 sv SO. The 7 GF includes 4 against the Oilers. The other 4 games we have scored just 3 goals. We have missed the '6 in 5' pace for the first time this year.

Hope this is just a matter of several players going cold at the same time. Streaks happen. But this one needs to end.

I agree with the over reaction but there are things that need to be sorted out - much of which is being discussed.
I hope it's a slump but it feels like it might be more than that - Especially considering this is impacting across our top 6.

We could so easily be 0-7 for this last stretch. It sucks, big time. Time to shake up all the F lines? Too soon? They are not skating, not playing with any enthusiasm. They need a good swift kick in the ass.

I think Connor looked like his early season self again after getting the boost up to the first line. His finish is still just a tad off, so it might take a game or two. But wouldn't suprise me if Ehlers has to miss time and Connor goes over a point a game in his next 10.

By this new standard, the Flames won the '04 cup. f***ing moron league doesn't know when to leave a can of worms alone. Tanev, Perrault and Ehlers are about the only guys who can deliver a swift kick. From the rest you might get a lethargic toe nudge. Laine wouldn't even lift his leg to wave it at them. Maurice would ask Wheeler to do it. Then ask him again. Then ask him again. I nominate Perrault. He's got chutzpah, although he might miss.
