Can't find actual numbers on jersey sales, though I am surprised Fleury was the #3 best-selling jersey of the 2021 calendar year (Ovi was #1).

Teams only collect direct jersey sales revenue if a team owned entity is selling the jerseys. E.g. a team shop in the arena. The team is still paying the usual cost of sales for employees, product, storefront, insurance, etc to sell those jerseys.

Licensing revenue from Adidas to manufacture jerseys and other products is split equally among all 32 teams regardless of total jerseys sold per team. I’d be surprised if any team is earning more on direct jersey sales than their share of the licensing rights.

Look on the bright side "Mullett Arena" is a pretty great name for a place to play hockey
They should have signed Jaromir Jagr to a league-minimum contract. Allow him to play in the NHL at the age of 50 and had multiple "Mullet bobblehead nights".

I guarantee that you could at least get the "Travelling Jagrs" to show up to games.

That is the biggest problem I see here.

Changing into your equipment and out of your equipment while standing on a cement floor isn't professional at all, but at least it is doable. The NHL players will be able to tolerate it for 1 game.

But does the road team not have access to any showers, toilets, or running water?
Pretty big leap there. Do you think the NHLPA and the League would approve a facility without water?

I don't see the running water in that "dressing room" they are setting up in that video.

They should just get dressed in their hotel rooms and put their skates on on the bench.

Amusingly, this is a common thing for teams with an off day on a road trip heading out to a practice arena.

Have attended a few of these. The rented bus takes the players from their hotel to the practice ice sheet with all their gear on, skates off. Players depart after practice on the bus geared up the same way.

Disclaimer: I’m not in any way advocating this for an actual game.

"cause the video clip showed the entire facility? You realize it is a rec centre arena, right? Have you ever been in a rec centre / arena that does not have running water?

Meh... I think I'll wait until I see the final product before I lose my mind.

Would be pretty wild if the Coyotes go on a Cinderella run within the next three years (or however long it takes to get new arena) and the Stanley Cup final is played in an arena more befitting of the Memorial Cup.. I think I'm rooting for it to happen.

It's time to pull the plug on this experiment and move the team to KC/Houston/Quebec already. Enough is enough.
Kansas City is a no..... if the Mavericks aren't interested in the BLUES (SEA AFFILIATE) DESPITE holding a preseason game in Independence, and then there's Kansas City leadership,

Houston is a no, as Fertitta is overleveraged.....

already 16 Eastern teams so no on QC

Yes I have been, to be perfectly honest with you. I have played sports in some bush-league type venues that look similar to the video, so my post was a fair question.

My understanding is NCAA rules prevent the Coyotes from using the ASU dressing room.

So what is off from the logical solution of; the Yotes use the (NCAA) visitor dressing rooms. The 4 visiting teams use any of the actual dressing rooms built for the community rink, instead of putting padding down and hanging pipe and drape?

One would think for the community ice sheet they have taken over there's at least 3-4 dressing rooms for teams to use.

1 room for the actual team to dress in, 1 to set up athletic training and medical, 1 for coaches to use, 1 miscellaneous. And since this facility is new and modern likely even community ice sheet locker rooms are a normal amount of space, and not the size of a broom closet like some older buildings I've played in.

Everything is brand new construction. The practice rink and rec locker rooms are a 120-180 foot walk from the western bench on the main arena ice sheet.

Doesn’t the fact that they are creating this temporary locker room tell you that the regular rooms don’t meet the needs of NHL teams?
